Guest guest
Wanda, Good Luck to you and your son with the shots. I hope you'll post your thoughts and feelings about them after you get started. I have nothing to offer really other than my dd was HORRIBLY hyper on the DMG from Kirkman's. When we d/c'd it that really stopped almost immediately.
Guest guest
> > First time we will get our B12 shots will be on Jan 4th- Any advice? My kids needed folic acid and a yeast protocol, when they were on mB12. So you might start by adding some folic acid now. B12 by itself will tend to deplete other Bs, especially B2. Add a multi-vitamin, or at least a multi-B. > Side effects? Hyper, which for my kids was eliminated with a lower dose of B12, folic acid, and yeast protocol. Depletion of other Bs. Can cause massive headaches and/or wild hyper, so start by giving it in the morning. I would personally start with oral first, so you can get an indication of your possible reactions. Guest guest
My son and I have been getting the shots for a couple of months now. I noticed improvements in him after the first couple of weeks (language articulation mostly). In about three weeks he started getting up for the day at 4:00AM--but that only lasted for a week (but it seemed like forever). We tried to add folinic acid but he hardly slept at all, so we dropped it. My son is doing really well on B12 and we see new improvements all the time. My understanding is that it's not a B12 deficiency but rather a methelation problem that it helped by the B12 shots. My son is already on a yest protocol so that's ok for us. Next we'll try DMG/TMG (not at the same time). The shots don't hurt at all really (I give them to myself and my son). My son is fine in a few seconds and he's only three. > > > > First time we will get our B12 shots will be on Jan 4th- Any advice? > > > My kids needed folic acid and a yeast protocol, when they were on > mB12. I would personally start with oral first, so you can > get an indication of your possible reactions. > > Dana > Hi Dana, We started the B12 shots- my son has had 2 and I have had 3. I notice right away in myself that my ears start to get a yeasty feeling -if you know what I mean (they kind of burn inside the canals). I have to use GSE in my ears on the days I gave myself the shots. I feel a difference about 2 days after a shot but then seem to feel low again. But no real bad experience for me and I have no problem giving them to myself. After I get my test results back from our DAN Dr. I will know if I have a yeast problem (I suspect I do) then I can treat that slowly while taking the B12 shots. I am hoping to relieve my anxiety and depression. So far I have been able to stay off all meds except for 1 tablet of lorazepam and 1 zyrtec- strange but syrtec helps my depression better than my antidepressant (makes me suspect my depression is caused by some type of food allergy or histimine type allergy). Now sorry this part is going to be longer because it is about my son- A couple of weeks ago we eliminated rice milk altogether - and in doing such this got rid of the last trace of gluten from the rice dream rice milk we used and also eliminated rice milk which is high glycemic and also acidid (I think- correct me if I am wrong). We noticed improvement right away. More language and more interest in toys. We also switched from grape juice to pear juice and saw less hyperactivity (tried adding white grape juice then the next day he wouldn't drink the pear juice and got really mad when I gave it to him). When trying to add back raisins and white grape juice his ears did get red. Also eliminated potato chips (which are big culprits). He was doing awesome until he got some type of sinus infection- I suspect caused by yeast but the pediatrician said usually bacteria causes them so he is on amoxycillin now and nystatin (both sugar free, dye free etc. etc.) I did not want to put him on the antibiotic and would love to take him back off of it but my husband said we better stick it out for the 10 days because if it is bacteria related and we stop the antibiotic then we might end up with some resistant form of bacteria. Unfortunately we also just started with the MB12 shots too so it is hard to say what is causing his hyperactivity - but I am going to guess it is yeast because he actually seems to like getting his antibiotic a little too much. He is not having any real bowel movement problems usually 1 or 2 a day and they are just kind of mushy and sticky. I think they smell like yeast. He is also very happy and hyperactive in the morning - this I think is due to the MB12 shots because whenever he has some type of B vitamin he wakes up very alert and wakes up earlier than usual no matter what time he goes to bed. He had been waking up every morning at 6:15 sharp now it is about 5:45 or so. Also when his yeast is up he wakes up earlier and hyper. So anyway at least he is not doing the night waking thing. This is what I am doing - In the morning with breakfast he has the houston trio- then I give him his antibiotic at the same time as the nystatin then he eats and a 1/2 hour after he gets his antibiotic and nystatin he gets his therbiotic complete. Then in after noon he gets 2nd dose of nystatin with probiotic then at dinner we give him antibiotice with nystatin and enzymes and probiotic after dinner. Does this sound like I am doing this the right way? Can you use activated charcoal when you are taking atibiotics? My husband says we should not use it. Should we just continue until he is done with his antibiotic then continue on with the nystatin and then add in the charcoal next week when he is off the antibiotic? Fortunately whenever we get his yeast checked it is only at 1+ . But I am so worried that it will get out of control and the new gains we have seen from diet changes and the MB12 will be lost again. He seems to be having the chewies again which usually happens when he has gut bugs. I also think the antibiotic makes his face slightly dry and blotchy. When I asked the pediatrician if he should be treated as if he is allergic to penacillin (like I am) she said no. But maybe he is - just not anaphalactically like myself- but she wouldn't put him on something else. Maybe he just has a virus and not sinus infection- that is possible too. His nose seems better but that is usually better when he is on yeast protocol of some sort. But, for the most part he is communicating with more words and using PECS on his own for a lot of what he wants to play with and eat. His drawing has improved he is doing better at school and his receptive language is way better. Any advice on how to use the antibiotics while doing yeast protocol would be great. Also if you have any links about amoxycillin and what it may deplete or contribute too that would be great. I am kind of ticked at myself for not trying just the nystating first without the antibiotic. I am glad we are seeing our DAN Dr. on Thursday- regular pediatricians just never get the antibiotic, antifungal stuff. I wish I had a video camera to show his pediatrician just how he acts after he has had antibiotic without the nystatin- the reaction is almost immediate. The pharmacist said give the antibiotic then wait thirty minutes then give the nystatin with the probiotic- this did not seem to work- it seems I have to give the nystatin at the exact time as the antibiotic. Is this usually true? Thanks I will stop writing now- it has been a long time since I posted and too much to say and ask. Any input is greatly appreciated. I will do my research again on antibiotics and autism. I did call our DAN DR. about this before using the antibiotic and he is the one who put him on the higher dose nystatin to take with it. Well anyway goodnight for now. Thank you again as always, Wanda

I think you need to seperate the nystatin and probiotics by 1-2 hours for the nystatin to be effective. Can you use activated charcoal when you are > taking atibiotics? You can use the activated charcoal about 30-45 minutes after the nystatin and 2 hours away from all other supplements, including antibiotics. When dd was on the nystatin this was the schedule: - 7 am - nystatin with no fenol in apple juice first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. - 8 am - breakfast with houston trio, chewable probiotic right after breakfast(could not wait the 2 hours after nystatin because of school). - nystatin with no fenol in apple juice when she got off the bus at 4:00 pm 5:30-6 pm - dinner with Houston trio - nystatin with no fenol in apple juice right before bed. We tried to dose it on an empty stomach as much as possible and we only got up to 3 mil a day (4 mil was prescribed) but this did help tremendously. We stopped it after 2 months as dd just would not drink it anymore and she doesn't swallow pills. We did not give activated charcoal as dd would not take it then (she does now though). You could fit in the activated charcoal 1/2 hour after each nystatin dose then do supplements 1-2 hours later if your schedule permits. Epsom salt baths or cream will help with detox/die-off as well. We use the Kirman's magnesium sulfate cream every night before bed and this has really helped. The antibiotics will stir up the yeast, so increasing the nystatin was the right thing to do. There are several other anti- fungals/yeast fighters - we are currently using Threelac with good results. Hope this helps,

How long have you been using Threelac? Do you also use oxygen elements? I have both but have not tried either. One of our nutritionists (we have 2) that we would have to watch out for overgrowth of the lactobacillus in threelac because it doesn't also have bifido bacterium and one grows in small intestine and one in large intestine. I am very confused about all this stuff. Also what kind of nystatin did you use? We have the suspension that is preserve free, die free, sugar free. Do you use the suspension - does yours have xylitol in it or glycerine? I am curious to know more about Threelac- did you have to change her diet alot? My son is such a sugar fiend. He used to eat veggies when they were in baby food jars then they changed to the plastic containers and he didn't like the new texture of the veggies (a little lumpier I think) then he stopped eating frozen peas for some reason and now the only veggies he gets are the ones I hide in the meatloaf. When his yeast is dying he is even more of a sugarholic and that makes it worse to try to avoid the sugars. We had a giant mess when we tried to give him peas a couple nights ago he threw his plate on the floor and then refused to eat anything at all. He has phenol issues, his yeast usually only comes up at 1+ on tests but he is still just very addicted to sugary starchy things. I want to also try Threelac for myself once I get my own yeast tests back. So I am curious how to start it for myself and my son. Any info would be great. Thanks, Wanda
