Guest guest
Hi , In reading your post, I have a question for you: has your son ever been tested for celiac disease? The reason I ask is that you mention that he has both Diabetes and Graves' disease (thyroid-related, for those who are not familiar with the term). Both of these, if I am not mistaken, are auto-immune disorders or at least have auto-immune components. I read a book a couple of years ago from someone who, while going farther on this than I would be willing to go, said that many auto-immune-type disorders originate from the havoc wreaked on a person's system if they have celiac disease and continue to ingest gluten. (More and more " mainstream " docs are realizing that celiac isn't just a digestive issue, but is tied in with other things like osteoporosis from malabsorption and possibly even things that would seem to be unrelated such as infertility.) I would suggest having him tested for celiac disease (it starts with a group of blood tests but I believe there has to be a scope test done to verify the diagnosis if the bloodwork comes up positive). If he comes up positive, everyone else in the family needs to be tested, as it's genetic and dominant. The treatment for it is a gluten-free diet, but once gluten is out of the system, things should improve on several fronts. (I have read various things about whether enzymes can be substituted for gluten-free diet, but that would have to be posted separately for someone who knows specifically to answer.) Hope this helps. karen <micaiahspeaks@...> wrote: Hi Everyone My name is , I joined recently. I am learning so much.My son is 14 yo and has rages,I never knew his problems could be caused by yeast and viral infections. I have tremendous overload of yeast and I assume my son does too. (esp since he also has type I diabetes also) I am going to purhase the products that Dana has recommended to others asap. My question at the moment is where does everyone purhhase their oil of oregeno? I know there are different varieties and I dont want to get the wrong one. I also realize that I need to treat the yeast first. Also, can someone compile a list of what all the abbreviations mean? I looked in the files but cant find any info. Again, thank you so much for this group ( I have renewed hope, that I can help our son without resorting to antipsychotics) also, he has NEVER been vaccinated for anything. He alos just developed graves disease. I dont know if any or all of it is tied together or not. Blessings Conrad

He has to see an opthamologist about his eyes, we pray there is no permanent damage from the Graves Disease. Guest guest
, My son had his intestines scraped (twice) under anesthesia, to test for some sort of gluten disease, is this part of what you are referring to? Guest guest
Hi , I am wondering if there might be some sort of insurance program available for your son, through the county or state you live in. I do not know the specifics of your financial situation or where you live, but if you call your county health department or your local library's reference desk, they might be able to direct you to potential resources. I know that having type I diabetes makes it hard to get individual coverage, especially at an affordable cost, but there might be a program out there to help. Hope this helps.
