Guest guest
Bobby and Phil, I've always taken Jarrow Formulas Zinc Balance 15. When supplementing with zinc, presumably copper should be taken at a ratio of 15:1; hence Jarrow Formula's label. After my first read through of Shippen's " The Testosterone Syndrome " I followed his advice for inhibiting aromatase with zinc....didn't work for me. I discontinued zinc supplementation....noticed that my toss off volume diminished. Zinc promotes toss off volume! The old adage that " oysters put lead in your pencil " is true. Of all foods on planet, oysters contain highest zinc concentration. I resumed Zinc Balance 15 supplementation. Each capsule contains Zinc (as Monomethionine) (from OptiZincÂȘ) 15 mg 100% Copper (as Gluconate) 1 mg Buying Zinc Balance 15 at heath food stores can be a little pricey. I found this website that has very good price http://store./nutritiondome1/jr-093.html Jarrow Zinc Balance 15 mg, 100 caps JR-093 $7.95Sale $4.39 You save: $3.56 (45%) I take two capsule with breakfast and two with dinner. In addition multi-vit I take, Sam's Club brand, Member's Mark, Mature Multi. Each tablet contains 15 mg zinc and 2 mg copper. I also take Real Health's, The Prostate Formula, which contains 15 mg zinc....so my daily zinc supplementation =s 90 mg and copper =s 6 mg. OR eon GayMan Re: Zinc questions Hi Bobby I have been using this one and have had no trouble. http://store./vitanet/zincop100cnt.html After a week I found that my nipples we not so sore and hard. I was having trouble with my skin breaking out in rashes after going into my spa. This went away. In it he recommends taking 50 mg of zinc twice daily (100 mg or >600% of the RDA) as one of the anti-aromatase agents. After a bit more reading elsewhere it seems that there is concern over zinc toxicity. I am a sedentary individual so I don't burn a lot of minerals off due to exercise (I know, I know...I'll cross that bridge when I can). The RDA for zinc is 15 mg, so what is the right figure to start out? How quickly would one expect to see some changes and then reduce the dosage. My wife broght home two zinc supplements. One is straight zinc (50 mg from zinc oxide and zinc gluconate), no copper. The other is a zinc/copper blend (zinc 30 mg and copper 2 mg) but the zinc is from zinc picolinate. Is there a major difference in the two sources of zinc (zinc oxide and zinc gluconate vs. zinc picolinate)? Also, some folks have recommended a 15:1 zinc/copper mix supplement as the way to go. Does copper have any part in the process of working my estrogen levels down? Thanks for the help...!
Guest guest
My daughter was going to start my granddaughter on a zinc supplement. When is the best time to take it? What dose is best. She is 6 .8 years old and probably weighs about 50 pounds. She was hoping it would help with sleeping and she had planned to give it to her at night. Now, I'm wondering if that's a good idea after reading post that zinc on an empty stomach can cause nausea. Thanks! noahsmom7898 <noahsmom7898@...> wrote: Zinc, taken with food, helps my daughter when she isn't eating (zinc deficiency is consistently found in eating disorder patients, also). But definitely give it with a significant amount of food, and if it's much before or after eating, skip the zinc. The nausea from zinc on an empty stomach is quite powerful. Amy > > > > > > 4. Good for you for being on the diet for 4 months! That's wonderful you aren't cheating! You must be very determined to get healthy my friend! I don't know if a person retraces all nail conditions, such as white spots, but I suppose it is possible. I've seen some very strange things retraced. LOL! Your hair will also get better in time. Have you ever had greasy oily hair in the past, since it could be retracing too. In the meantime ensure you use a good natural shampoo. Baking soda helps with oil and grease, so you could wash your hair with it. Mix it into a paste with a little water, and rub it well into the scalp and hair, down to the ends, and then rinse it well. The best to you, Bee
