Guest guest
Oh Domi, I hate that! Did they use the same reason as last time? Maybe if you take the denial letter to CT at Aimee's next adjustment (or maybe ask Dr. Day too - didn't you see him?) they can look at it and give you some insight - maybe they'd know some " catch phrases " that you could use to get their attention. I'd check the database too, to see if anybody else who had CIGNA got their band paid for. I can't say I understand how frustrated you feel about this since Aetna paid for 's band without an argument, but I HAVE deal with ins. companies on other stuff - you get to the point where instead of banging your own head against the wall, you want to go there and bang THEIR heads!!!! Let's get together soon - you can vent to me and in person! Guest guest
Actually banging their heads is good....was thinking of giving them the same flatness as Aimee and letting them see how great life would be with a misshapen head and other problems...ughhh....but on the brite side...we went to CT today and they are telling me that Aimee is showing GREAT improvement.....they said her head is MUCH wider than when we started and her facial assymetry is almost gone! I can't believe what ONE month has done for my baby girl! I am just thankful that my WONDERFUL pediatrician whom I will never be able to thank enough...EVER...caught this in time.....Thank God for wonderful doctors huh? Okay enough mummbling...LOL.....Dh and I are going to resubmit our stuff and pray that CIGNA has a change of heart....i think the next step after that will be to see if we can get dh's company involved....oh and yes they basically gave us the same excuse...its just to make her head pretty.... HUGS.... Domi PS...Would LOVE to get together!!! Aimee turns ONE on Friday so next week would be best for me....just give me a day! ----- Original Message ----- From: " Becky Keck " <becky@...> <Plagiocephalyegroups> Sent: Wednesday, January 03, 2001 3:40 PM Subject: Re: got our second denial letter today > Oh Domi, I hate that! Guest guest
Domi, Did your insurance co. give you the same reason for denial both times? The reason I ask is, in New York State it is not legal for them to give one reason one time and another reason next time. Here if that does happen, the decision automatically gets overturned! There are also time limits on your ins. co, getting in contact with you to let you know their decision. There is an agency called Citizen Action that does help with things like this. Look on the web for a citizen action in your state and contact them. Perhaps they can send you a bill of rights for insurance companies. Also it may not hurt to cc your state health dept. and perhaps get your local and state politicians to help. I wish you well, keep us posted! Guest guest
They gave us the same reason more or less.....they basically stated that we are just trying to improve head shape...and that she does not display any problems then there is no reason for it.....Basically all that research that i had done and read through didn't do me an ounce of good...lol.....Now I am just praying that a miracle will happen! Thanks for the support and the ideas....
