Guest guest
Hi , I've not used Diflucan, but I was looking up the ingredients in it the other day. Here's some information on that I found on the web (from Rxlist.com): Diflucan Tablets: Contain 50, 100, 150, or 200 mg of fluconazole and the following inactive ingredients: microcrystalline cellulose, dibasic calcium phosphate anhydrous, povidone, croscarmellose sodium, FD & C red no. 40 aluminum lake dye, and magnesium stearate. Diflucan for Oral Suspension: Contains 350 mg or 1400 mg of fluconazole and the following inactive ingredients: sucrose, sodium citrate dihydrate, citric acid anhydrous, sodium benzoate, titanium dioxide, colloidal silicon dioxide, xanthan gum and natural orange flavor. After reconstitution with 24 ml of distilled water or Purified Water (USP), each ml of reconstituted suspension contains 10 mg or 40 mg of fluconazole. I guess some of those things may not be very good for some kids. I'm not sure if you can get some different form or not, but with this info you'd be able to talk to the pharmacist if you thought something might be problematic. Anita > > Hi all, > > Isaac just got an rx for Diflucan because we are about to start Valtrex. Does Diflucan need to be compounded? Are there things in the regular formula that would bother a sensitive gut or allergy kid? Anything to look out for? Also, about dose, is it given on an empty stomach or at meals? How soon after can I give probiotics? Is it okay to just give probiotics once a day while on it? Sorry for all the elementary questions but he has never been on it and I haven't done any anti-fungals since beginning biomed. Thanks in advance for helping me get started. > > > __________________________________________________ >
Guest guest
Just FYI - we actually get Diflucan in the form of preservative free flucanazole - we have it compunded and shipped from Village Green Pharmacy in Bethesda MD (if you google it it will come up). Just another option for you - it works well for us... :-) Anita Kugelstadt <mysuperteach@...> wrote: Hi , I've not used Diflucan, but I was looking up the ingredients in it the other day. Guest guest
When we have used it we have had it compounded at Coastal Compounding Pharmacy to get rid of the yucky stuff. Guest guest
I suppose I will need to research this elsewhere, since no one seems to be able to help. My issue is only vaginal, that I know of, but it's still very bothersome to me. Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry Diflucan questions I was diagnosed with vaginal candida kefir. My gynecologist sent me to an infectious disease doctor, who said it was not a " red flag " type candida, and that a short course of diflucan should take care of it. I come from a natural health background, and had been on an anti-candida diet for about 2 months. The doctor doesn't seem to think it's systemic, because my immune system is very strong and I don't have rashes, thrush or any other serious symptoms, except brain fog. She also said I didn't need to make any diet modifications, though I'm sticking to no sugar, but a few carbs. I'm going to try the conventional way b/c she is confident it will work, but I am curious how long it takes for the vaginal itching to subside. This is my 3rd day on diflucan, tomorrow being the last dose. Did feel tired today.

Guest guest
The theory which support UTI and vaginal yeast infection come from a leaky gut is about the fact the vagina is close to the colon. If a bacteria or fungus scape from the intestine, the closest organs have more chance to be infected. But keep in mind, that candida is a normal resident of the vaginal flora, and antibiotics and other factors affect the vaginal flora in the same way they do in the gut, so candida can become dominant and persistent in the vagina if the bacterial population is low. > > My doctor thinks vaginal yeast problems are caused by leaky gut. Sigh. Guest guest
Without adjusting your diet and microorganism intake you will most likely be contending with alot of recurrence and symptom relief. For just dealing with the vaginal issue, you can use vinager or probiotic douche to alter the ph and flora. With the sugar and carb issue; carbs are turned to glucose in the body. You may have cut the sugar intake but you are making sugar by eating carbs which is feeding the fungus in the body and messing your metabolism. And using antifungal drugs you are creating even more unbalance to the GI tract which may lead to down stream issues. You may feel temporary short term relief, but the long term usually is not so pleasant. Guest guest
Yea we do have similar issues the yeast cleanser worked Wonders for me and so did the coconut oil liver flush now I'm just on probiotics hopefully that will be enough. I wish you luck and herbs can be great combined with prescription so you should have it all under control soon! The yeast is so hard to kill you have to literally shock it with different means of killing it in case its feeding off sugar Everything we eat almost has sugar or can be digested into suger so go for the gold when killing it off Live well! grasshopperx_10 <woody1014@...> wrote: >Hey your story sounds like mine.
