My son's hair test didn't meet the counting rules either, but it was like your son's with antimony, aluminum, and arsenic in the yellow. He responded very positively to the first round of ALA. Over two years later and urine tests show he's still dumping metals. The best way to *know whether chelation will help is to do a short trial of 5-10 rounds and see how it goes. Guest guest
Have you identified and reduced/removed sources of exposure to aluminum, antimony, arsenic, lead? FWIW, DMSA chelates both mercury (from the body) and lead. ALA chelates mercury (fom body and brain) and arsenic. IMO any amount of lead or arsenic in the human body is too much. Guest guest
There is no absolute way to determine metal toxicity. Suggest you do a porphrins test. The test is prone to false negatives. To mitigate this, use a preservative in the urine sample (sodium carbonate). Feel free to email me with more questions on this. mltallent <mltallent@...> wrote: I just got my son's metal test...I will list at bottom, if anyone can help me. Due to the significant chance that the test is falsely negative, a trial of chelation is appropriate as long as the child has no amalgam dental fillings. Five cycles (weekends) is enough to be sure if he is responding or not. > He has wrote a script for TD-DMPS > but we haven't given it yet....Pharmacist said he needed to take > Minerals for Life & Liquid Lithium first for a couple of weeks, then > we will start. > PLEASE NOTE- I DO NOT want to offend anyone or get anyone upset with > me. I am just trying to learn what I need to do to help my son!!! The most important thing is to chelate properly even if the pharmacist and doctor don't know how to do that. Properly: apply the DMPS every 8 hours or more often for at least 3 days in a row. Improperly: every other day, once a day, once a week, etc. > But I was told by several mother's that their kids didn't make the > counting rules either but by 3rd urine test one was dumping 50 of > mercury, & that I should go ahead & chelate....(which I need to > anyway for lead, arsenic, antimony & alumiunum, which is my > understanding????) The meaning of the ratios is discussed in my book Hair Test Interpretation: Finding Hidden Toxicities www.noamalgam.com/hairtestbook.html They illuminate things like whether he needs digestive enzymes or regulates blood sugar well. > > The Mercury thing is really strange to me because I have 2 silver > fillings, I nursed for 7 months & while I was in the hospital > birthing my twins they gave me a rubella shot. This is a typical finding in kids who have a mercury problem - their body holds on to it, their hair levels are unusually LOW. A great reason to try chelation and see if it helps. If it doesn't, it just takes a few weeks to know that. > I would love to know what everyone thinks about what would be a good > way for us to go with my son now.... > He has B-12 shots to give 2x/week. > 3 Yeast supps also.. > Fixing to start Omega 3,6... > gf/cf/sf diet > Minerals of Life & Lithium liquid (just started) > Will be starting TD-DMPS next week per DAN! > Thank you! > > > > > > __________________________________________________ >
