Do you have to suppliment while on ALA>? Does it take the good & bad minerals? Any LiverKidney support on this? You said that you had urine tests showing he is still dumping, does a Dr. order this? I was thinking that ALA is at the HFS's & you didn't need a prescription... Sorry about all of these questions, but It has been told to me several times that I am wasting my money on the TD-DMPS..so I don't want to do that..ha ha.. Thanks again! And my son responded to it quickly at a very low dose. > Do you have to suppliment while on ALA>? Yes. Lots of antioxidants and zinc and magnesium. There's a helpful supplement file in the file section of list. > Does it > take the good & bad minerals? Any LiverKidney support on this? Not sure what you mean about good and bad minerals. Different kids seem to need calcium, or not need it, or need high amounts of zinc or a minimal amount -- you have to try giving some stuff and seeing how the kid responds. Some kids don't have any changes good or bad with supps, others are sensitive and you have to be careful introducing new things and getting the dosage right. A good rule is to introduce new things one at a time, at half dosage or less, and see how it goes. Yes, I give milk thistle as liver support. > You said that you had urine tests showing he is still dumping, does a > Dr. order this? Yes, although you can order them yourself through Direct Labs. I didn't bother for years because I could see his improvements for myself. They're not cheap either. But I have to admit I get a kick out of seeing the junk coming out of him on paper. >I was thinking that ALA is at the HFS's & you didn't > need a prescription... Yes, it's very nice not to have to bother with a script. Nell
