Guest guest
Could someone please explain to me if the French lab factors in the creatinine number when it provides the porphyrin results? If not, what is the baseline number? I have heard it is 1000. My son has had 2 porphyrin tests and the lab want to test it a 3rd time. The first time we used the 1st morning urine and is creatinine was 1340. The prophyrins for mercury and lead came back pretty low. Lead was below the 50-90 range. The second specimen we took was the second morning urine and the creatinine came back 150 and the porphyrin results were very high for mercury and lead. Obviously, we are doing it again, but I would like to know how the creatinine is factored in...if it is? One DAN doc had told a friend that her son's lead numbers were really in the 700 range because his creatinine was around the 400 range. So it was recalculated to bring the creatinine up to 1000 to give a more realiztic number. I have an e-mail to my DAN doc's office, but due to the holidays I will probably not get an answer til next week. Any help would be much appreciated.
