You've been a true friend and amazing resource to me and my son. Most people do believe that if you start your child so young that results will be faster and better. In fact, that does seem to be an actual trend, given my reading on the boards, but as with all things related to ASD, nothing is 100%. I will admit it is difficult to not blame myself for my son's lack of progress especially because we had such great luck at the beginning. It is easy to believe that somehow my bad decisions/lack of judgement ruined that progress. But that is only on bad days. > > Does he appear better on the chelators or during a round than off? We no longer see any difference. At the beginning he was better on a round and we could see a definite dip the day after a round, particularly if that round was short (less than 4 days). We also never see any improvements, as we likely should by now, with each round, even very long rounds. > > It's also interesting, not in any good way that antivirals bring out seizure activity and I would think that is associated with mercury being moved and I know antivirals don't have any properties which would make that happen. I realize it could be coincidental, but the virus/seizure connection does seem fairly plausible here. In going back over videos, etc, I can see things that indicate to me that my son's regression actually started after his MMR. It wasn't noticeable to me at the time, even though he's my third child, as he was still affectionate, chatty, healthy. But there are oddities. Then, with the antibiotics and thimerosal, everything came crashing down. I think we are dealing with the metals well enough, but his problems are more complex. > > I don't have the answers you're looking for, hoping Andy does, just wanted to say I don't know anybody who has worked any harder than you have and you've crossed a lot of things off your list. Just wanted to say we are thinking of you here and hoping the New Year brings you some well deserved answers. I am grateful for all of your kind thoughts and help . > > And, btw, can you give me a clue as to what sod means, never quite heard that one....but I live a sheltered life? Oh, you are sheltered. :-) Think sodomy. And think about how we feel about those people who say we're abusing our kids by trying to help them. Then you'll understand my message for them :-) I'm sending you my warmest wishes for 2007 as well--the year to have more time to enjoy the amazing fruits of your hard work and dedication :-) Anita > > >
