Hi Beth,

Mouth sores are a curse of me if I go anywhere near foods like

tomato (WORST CULPRIT), some spices, excessive citrus, (salicylate

foods I think), then the issue of " old " scratchy toothbrushes/wrong

type of toothpaste etc can bring them on when I get stressed too.

I can only suggest trying to work out the foods that don't work for

him, since the chelators obviously make the most of the

intolerances/maybe excess sugars during this time/upsetting his

balance.

I use celtic salt in water to reduce pain during outbreaks, plus

radically increasing minerals, alkalising foods etc.

Hope you find an answer to this perplexing issue for your boy.

na, Actually my son only gets these sores in his mouth when he

is using the chelators. He doesn't get them at any other time, so I

don't think it is food related.

The sores are usually above his gums inside of his lip and look like

a sore where he bit himself or ate something too acidic. Sometimes

he gets them on the roof of his mouth or on the inside of his mouth

on the cheek area. I wish I knew what I could do to prevent them so

I could follow Andy's protocol...

I meant to say in my first post that he usually gets them during the

2 round. But this last time on ALA, he got them after the second day

of the first round.

What tests could I run to check zinc, lysine and B vitamin levels?

For my #1, these are eliminated with lysine, B vitamins, and selenium.

Because you notice this with chelators, try adding selenium, see if

that helps.
