Guest guest
Hi Andy: What do you think about Dr. Yasko testings and protocols? Appreciate your response. I think any real genetics doctor would realize that what is on the Yasko website mostly does not make sense and can't be so. However most genetic doctors would be too prejudiced by the mainstream medical religion to really look into it and form a reasoned opinion - and thus might miss some things that would actually help. Recall that all heavy metal intoxications are mitochondrial disorders - they impair mitochondrial ATP production - and that doctors usually tell you tests are normal when the tests come back abnormal in a way the doctor doesn't understand. The only way to have real information is to get actual photoicopies of the test results from the lab yourself and go over them. Guest guest
I am considering starting Yasko's protocol. This is because my son breaks out in very painful mouth sores after several rounds of chelation using Andy's method. Working with a RN using his protocol, we have tried DMPS, DMSA, and ALA--all with the same results. I am giving him super lysine and zinc. The mouth sores could also be from a vit. B deficiency. Whenever we give him B6, his core issue of handflapping is much worsened. He takes 1 sublingual of B12 and one nasal spray of B12. It never fails that he gets these sores after 2 and the past several times, he broke out in sores after the second day on ALA 25 mg. He is almost 13 and weighs 94 lbs. (andy) That is my opinion and it's pretty obvious what my advice is. You have to make your own decision. I'm not going to be upset or hold it against you if you go do something I don't think makes sense. I just hope for your kid's sake you get lucky and you end up doing something that works, and don't spend too much more than you have to in getting there. Guest guest
Andy: What I am most interested in is the genetic testing which will be more specific for my child. Can that be done in a regular lab, if so, what are the tests called? If not, maybe it's worth doing Yasko's genetic testing. What do you think? I'm just tired of this guessing game and one size fits all. Thanks Jeanne andrewhallcutler <AndyCutler@...> wrote: > I've had people the Yasko testing said should have lots of B-12 do very poorly on it. > > I think any real genetics doctor would realize that what is on the Yasko website mostly > does not make sense and can't be so. I'm just tired of this guessing game and one size fits all. > Thanks > Jeanne Once you have had the standard genetic work-up your mainstream doc's can provide, you have had everything that doesn't involve a lot of guessing game. Beyond that there are the 2 questions of what the specific effects of the alleles are, and also whether the test is accurate or means anything. Accuracy (you actually have the allele they say you do) is apparentlyu a big issue and there is no real way to verify it. I have never found these tests to be helpful or informative and I have been VERY VERY interested in their potential utility. The guessing game issue is mostly due to phsyician incompetence, partly due to an actual lack fo knowledge, and not at all due to any genetic issues that can be elucidated by testing.
