Guest guest
Check the archives of the list. There's a lot of discussion of it and why ALA/DMSA makes more sense. Guest guest
These products typically honestly aren't heavy metal chelators or they only contain enough chelator to be harmful and inappropriate. Guest guest
I would have to disagree here. I have been on this board with you all for the last three years, and I know that most use ALA or DMSA. I also know a few parents that have gotten good metal pulls with PCA- Rx. I got curious about it 4-months ago, and I started giving it daily. I have seen some pretty dramatic improvement in my daughter. She is much more social, eating better, and talking a LOT more. Also, almost no meltdowns when told NO for something. I have gone slowly as I so with everything. We are just now up to 8-sprays in the morning, and they claim you can go to 8-sprays twice a day. This is just my experience, but there is something to it for sure. Guest guest
I think PCA does work. Even some DAN doctors suggest its use. We used one bottle which went ok. When we started the second bottle he started to have meltdowns so we stopped it and so did the meltdowns.. Maybe it was something else other than the PCA but I do question the quality control of this stuff. This stuff is mostly algae and they have to grow it.?? Anynbody been to Maxim labs and see there facility? I just picture a big bathtub with " pond water " that they ladle into the little bottles. > > > > These products typically honestly aren't heavy metal chelators or > they only contain enough chelator to be harmful and inappropriate. > > > > > > [ ] PCA-RX Oral Chelation Therapy > > > > > > Has any one tried PCA-RX oral chelation therapy from Awaken > Nutrition > > for children? Guest guest
Hey Mark--I have not been to the facility to see the " tub " Ha!! However, some parents on the chlatingkids2 group did have it tested, and it was pretty pure. No traces of metals, etc.--Tod > > > > > > These products typically honestly aren't heavy metal chelators > or > > they only contain enough chelator to be harmful and inappropriate. > > > > > > > > > [ ] PCA-RX Oral Chelation Therapy > > > > > > > > > Has any one tried PCA-RX oral chelation therapy from Awaken > > Nutrition > > > for children? Guest guest
PCA-RX contains ALA but I don't know how much. In fact, I had gone through page after page on their web site before I discovered that fact. It's easier to uncover that here in the A-M archives. I had e-mailed the company with other questions and had gotten fairly rapid responses. So I emailed them and asked whether I should give the sprays every three hours due to the ALA content. Up until that e-mail, they were quite prompt in responding to my e-mails. They didn't respond to that one. I've read good things about the product, but that wall of silence was troubling. I'll stick with ALA from my local HFS. It's a whole lot less expensive and I have a pretty good idea how much my daughter is getting. > > These products typically honestly aren't heavy metal chelators or they only contain enough chelator to be harmful and inappropriate. > > > [ ] PCA-RX Oral Chelation Therapy > > > Has any one tried PCA-RX oral chelation therapy from Awaken Nutrition > for children? Guest guest
Maxim probably doesn't know how much of anything is in it. IF they did I would think they would list the amount on the lable > > > > These products typically honestly aren't heavy metal chelators or > they only contain enough chelator to be harmful and inappropriate. > > > > > > [ ] PCA-RX Oral Chelation Therapy > > > > > > Has any one tried PCA-RX oral chelation therapy from Awaken > Nutrition > > for children? Guest guest
They are archived through something called onibasu. I haven't used that so perhaps others can explain how it works. I just do a google search on " autism treatment " and whatever topic I'm looking for, in this case you would type " autism treatment PCA-RX " in the google search field.
