Guest guest
Is that where Bandera hails from? I was born in Fort Hood, TX, but didn't live there too long. I suspect I will spend the rest of my days in Wisconsin, although you never know...Good luck on your continuing testing and tx. -dz- --- quarles@... wrote: > Thanks for the warm welcome from everyone. > > Bob, I will look for that book by Dolan that you > suggested. Guest guest
Hi , My dad used to work on the King Ranch years ago. He passed away a few years back. He had some great stories of when he and mom lived there. They were married in Skidmore. Were you raised in that area? I lived in Corpus and then in Mathis for a few years when I was growing up. Love the area down there. My husband and I found a great fishing spot on Baffin Bay near Riviera, not too far from Kingsville. > Hi > > I'm not too far from you. Guest guest
Hi I was born in Oklahoma City. We moved to corpus in 1962 when I was 9. My wife and I moved to Kingsville 3 years ago. I would not want to live in any city that is very large anymore. I think I know of your fishing place, that's probably where I fish whenever I get a chance. Guest guest
, It's a small world isn't it. I lived in Corpus off and on when I was little...in grade school and jr. high. I went to Cullen Jr. High and my brother went to King High School. Then we moved to Mathis and he graduated there. Then we moved to Nixon where I graduated. We moved a lot when I was growing up...can you tell. One year I went to 5 different schools. But it didn't hurt me, moving around. After graduation and some time at college, I moved to California where I got married. We've been back in Texas since 1978. I'm with you...I prefer not to live in the city anymore. May I ask how you are doing with your Hep C? How about your wife? My husband has to get checked. I just hope he is okay. > > > Hi > > > > > > I'm not too far from you. Guest guest
I got Hepatitis in the early 70's probably 1971 or 1972 while I was in the Army.the probable cause was IV drug use. At that time I contracted hep A and B with two relapses in a one year period. Spent about 9 months out of that year in the hospital. The Hep C didn't show up until 1995 during some lab work ordered by my doctor. Went to him because I had been feeling tired all of the time and having pretty severe headaches. In 96 I started my first round of treatment with Interferon alone. They did not have the combo treatment at that time. After 14 months of treatment the virus was undetectable. Since I had lost my job that provided insurance I had to go to the VA clinic for follow up testing which showed that I had relapsed. It took me two years and a letter to my congressman to get them to treat me for it. I have now been on the combo treatment for about 13 month and have about another 4 or 5 to go. Seems that they made a mistake on the # of refills so I'm going to take advantage of it. If this round doesn't work I will probably try the Peg/Ribavirin combo. Guest guest
Hi. Happily it is unusual to pass the disease to your spouse or family members. Neither my ex-wife of 13 years or my current wife have been infected. For most of that time I did not know I had it, so was taking no precautions. My dr suggested that if I was in a monogamous relationship and my spouse was not infected we could continue our physical relationship with no additional precautions. He added though, if I should ever become single again it would be advisable to use protection. -dz- > May I ask how you are doing with your Hep C? Guest guest
You've got the right attitude, . I don't know if I could go on that long. Hopefully I won't have to find out. I've been having problems calling in my prescriptions and the dr has to call the pharmacy and they have to order it, etc. I got a little bit angry over it because my own dr's office was going to be the cause of me interrupting my tx. One time the pharmacist gave me the medication anyway, because I was about to run out (I order 1 week in advance)and the dr hadn't approved it yet. After bitching this week I found they called in 6 months worth of refills. I am only scheduled for 10 more weeks. I don't intend to go any further if I don't have to.. -dz- --- <ralexan@...> wrote: > I got Hepatitis in the early 70's probably 1971 or > 1972 while I was in the > Army.the probable cause was IV drug use. Guest guest
I know it’s hard to put up with all the red tape, you have a good attitude, I hope you get it all straightened out. Hang in there. –dz- [ ] Thanks to all Hi all, Thank you for the welcome. My prayer is also that I will clear with this round of treatment, and that ALL of us who have not reached " WELLDOM " as yet will clear with that is going on presently in each life. I am still waiting, red tape, they want so many pieces of paper before they have a full porfolio on one before letting go of meds. I know I sound ungrateful, AM NOT, truly, just impatient. Last round of treatment, I had to divorce my husband. In all, it took over a year to be assigned an eligible status for the Shering Plough treatment for 24 weeks. My dr (then) did not think with my age that I should go any longer. THe same dr will not help me go further with treatment, hence, he is my ex-doctor. I do not intend to give up as long as I have options, so there! lol Gotta fix dinner, Sharon
Guest guest
Neil, , Nell, , Dana, Jan (and anyone I may have forgotten), Thanks to all for all of the advice/commentary you have contributed over the past few days. Asher seems to be on the rebound. We have actually seen some nice things during the scare. We now have some croupy cough left and, of course, yeast die-off, but I think he has cleared a sinus infection. He was in pretty good spirits today. FWIW, I dropped his supps to just colostrum, C, Bs, Candex, zinc, tons of probiotics, mag, and minerals. I dosed all of these pretty frequently and we laid pretty low. I thought about the Virastop but chickened out. I am not in the mood for a full on viral fight and, given his HHV6 and other viral issues, well, you know..... Again, thanks to all for all your help. I surely would have had a heart attack a long time ago without the advice and support of ya'll. Anne
Guest guest
I just wanted to say a big thank you for all your responses and support...I went back and got a chest xray...No pneumonia...but lots of inflammation and was put on steroid dose pack..I feel so blessed to be in this group with so much support and knowledge that abounds in here!! I pray for you all everyday..Thank you! God Bless, Vickey tamilulu2 <tamilulu@...> wrote: > > > > Hello, > > > > I have been sick with respiratory symptoms since the first week of > > Dec. Hi. I take Remicade, and I assume that Enbrel/Humira/Remicade are all in roughly the same ballpark, right? I know that taking Remicade, that respitory infections are a " common side effect " I had a mother of one last month, too. I was so miserable, and it did linger for weeks. The coughing all night...ugh. My chest hurts just remembering it. They gave me antibiotics and the loppyloo cough syrup. You can cough-or see mirages...what a choice! I would definitely insist on the xray, though. Our immune systems are wacky, to say the least, and the doctor needs to address the problem, even just to alleviate your fears. It is good to rule out things, if you are worried. It is not as if we are unfounded in being afraid of what our bodies might throw at us next. I truly hope you feel better soon! Guest guest
Blessings to you, . You've been through a lot this holiday season. I'm so thankful that Rob is OK. What a terrifying experience! Happy New Year. (15, systemic) > > Thanks to all for all the well wishes for . > He is doing just fine, in fact, a little TOO fine, if you know what I mean...he is driving us nuts. I think he is just not used to being with Mom and Dad this much after being away and on his own. > We got him a replacement vehicle on Friday (another blessing) after finding out that the insurance company was going to be more generous than we had thought. So he is back to having his freedom, and hopefully, will be more cautious in freezing temperatures when there is black ice. > We go to Cincinnati on Wednesday to see Dr Passo for his 6 month follow up. > He goes to the chest surgeon on Thursday for a recheck. He goes back to college on Friday; classes are resuming on Monday January 7. Friday he will settle back in and get his books purchased, etc. > I wish everyone many blessings in the new year! > and Rob 18 JAS > > >
