Re: ALA -- head banging

It may be too soon to add ala for your son. Some people do not

tolerate it until many rounds of dmsa or dmps have been done.

Also, AlA can raise copper, and can add to a yeast problem. Is he on

Molybdenum to control copper during chelation?

I found ALA gave me terrible headaches no matter how low the dose

was. So I am only using dmsa now. This was quit a common complaint

on adult chelation boards..that people could not handle the ala

until they had 40 or more rounds with other chelators.

Glut and NAC are not needed anyway for chelation.

I would go back to chelation without the ala to see if the

headbanging stops. Yes, ala is needed but at some point..for some of

us..that is way later than others.

Are his adrenals supported? The sensitivity to light and dialated

eyes are an adrenal fatigue symptoms...chelation can stress the

adrenals and he may need support during chelation.

Is yeast under control? This is another cause for this to happen on

a round. Increase probiotics and yeast protocol.

What's his copper level? What else is in the TD-ALA? When was his most recent

new exposure (vaccine, etc).

Oral ALA is available without glutathione, I don't know about TD, but I don't

know why not.

We have been dealing with yeast for awhile -- nystatin,

diflucan,
nizoral, gse. We don't quite have it under control. His copper has
been brought back to balance. We were on TD-DMPS for about 10 months
prior to adding TD-ALA. We get the TD-ALA from Coastal -- there is
glutathione in it which he does have trouble with -- can it be
compounded without glutathione? We had mercury into the red on his
urine tests for awhile and it has now tapered off.

His last vaccine was 2 years ago. We did the prophryn urine test in
November and it showed him to be pretty severely mercury toxic
(possibly lead too).

We tried ALA for 4 rounds -- after each round, he has had improvement
in speech and cognitive function as well as eye contact (he is 3 1/2
years old). He is even playing with other kids. Yet he headbangs the
wall and the floor quite a bit, even after the rounds are done. He
does seem to have bad headaches and stomach aches too.
For my son, all of those symptoms indicated yeast overgrowth.

Definitely try increasing his yeast protocol. Give him a break from

chelating until you determine what is the cause, and eliminate this

problem.

Glutathione tends to cause yeast, same as ALA. Definitely consider

increasing the yeast protocol.

Yeast in the head/brain can cause this. I have experienced this

personally. It is a major nasty headache.
