Re: Metronidazole & Fluconazole

Hi Theresa,

My daughter was recently prescribed Metronidazole for blastocystis

hominus (parasite), she was on 600mg x 3/day, did less than 3 days

of the 10 day course and we had to stop as she became very ill,

swollen throat, too much to handle.

She still has the parasite, so am chasing another option for

treatment.

Another child used the Metro. antibiotic years ago, survived it,

but has gut issues still.

Metro is known as a pretty " mean " antibiotic, so you have to expect

negative reactions - and a really good reason for using it in the

first place, and then follow up in trying to restore gut health as

quickly as possible.
