Just looking for a little oral edta to use between IVs I give him a little DMSA, ALA and EDTA on the weekends (every 3-4 hour, small doses) and he gets DMPS and CaEDTA IVs every other wednesday. Guest guest Posted December 12, 2006 Report Share Posted December 12, 2006 Wow, thats a lot of chelators going at once. If you are using ala, this mobilizes mercury. You do not want to use edta if mercury is present and moving. Also, as you may know this board uses Andy's protocol. This mainly stems on low dose chelation with dmsa, dmsa/ala, or dmps. He does recomend using EDTA nor IV chelation. As the chelators need to be given every four hours for three to four days. This does not happen with IV chelation. It can cause redistribution. This effects of redistribution are not always evident immediately.
