Guest guest
Whenever my boys get sick I start taking Airborne and it seems to help me avoid it most of the time. The other thing I do for my typically developing son when he has a cough at night, I rub vicks vapor rub on his feet and put socks on. I haven't called to see if its gluten free so I haven't used it on my ASD son, but it seems to really work on my oldest. I am not sure why on the feet, but I read it somewhere and tried it in desperation and he didn't cough all night. I hope they are feeling better. Guest guest
VIRASTOP!! This has been a lifesaver for us. Not only did it shorten the duration of viruses for my kids but it stopped us adults from catching it at all. My son did get very sick last month with a 104 fever. We do not use fever reducers because a fever is a necessary part of the body killing the virus. In any case, I just kept giving him virastop. The fever broke on it's own, and the doctor has no idea how that happend since my son turned out to have strep. So his fever should not have broke until we gave him antibiotics. Mystified they were. I just giggled. They kept saying are your sure you didn't give him tylenol? How could we..it has red food coloring! Anyway..I started getting achy, and slighlty nauseaus two days ago following my children trading rounds of the barf bandit, I began virastop and took it four times that day, along with vitamins, more C, and astralagus extract. And the next day I felt great...it's been a few days..still no sign off catching whatever they have. We also have a practice in our house of putting the kids on echinacea at the first sign of a sniffle. It usually heads off a cold before they get it. Works on us too. As for fever, it needs to runs it's course. You want the fever there because the elevated body temp is what " cooks " the viral cells out of business. Fevers are not normally dangerous as we are taught to think. You can give baths, and cool washclothes which makes them feel better. But in essence, a fever under 104 should just run it's course. Your child will get better quicker than if you override the bodies defense of a fever. I would get some echinacea, astralagus extract, olive leaf extract and virastop to keep in the house. You can use vapor rub for coughs, steamy vapor baths, humidifiers or vaporizors, etc. Mainly, we found that the herbs seem to do a better job of eliminating the cold quickly vs giving over the counter remedies. However, by all means if the coughing is not allowing him to sleep, you should give something at night. Olive leaf has knocked out many viruses around here too. > > > > Dear Friends, > > > > My 4 yrs old 28 lbs son is very sick with high fever the last 2 > days already and he starting pretty bad cough today. Guest guest
Is the gasping coming from difficulty breathing? Difficulty breathing is a medical emergency.
