Guest guest
Hi , I think you probably mean last 2 doses, not rounds. I think someone suggested that by dropping the ALA from the last 2 doses that any mercury being carried around and possibly dropped would be picked up by the fresh DMSA or DMPS therefore less likely to be " re-distributed " to the brain as DMSA and DMPS don't cross the Blood Brain Barrier. My feeling on this is that if you are using the correct dosage for body weight, then the body should be able to excrete the amount that is being carried around because you don't have more chelator than you have for capacity to excrete. I guess I can see the logic in the other argument and I would be very interested to hear from an expert on this question. I have re-named the topic (I hope you don't mind) to catch Andy's attention. We are currently in the last 18 hours of a chelation round and I think I read on a previous email it can sometimes assist recovery time if the last two dosings are DMSA or DMPS only. In other words, laying off the ALA the last two rounds can make it easier on the person. Does anyone know anything about this? Would appreciate any insight. Like when is it safe to stop the ALA etc? Guest guest
We did that for the last year or so and found it to be very helpful. My son had less trouble on the day after.
