Guest guest
Now that she's on the SCD, give us an idea what she is eating...or the main things she's not eating not that she was eating before. B vitamins are problematic for some. Check danaview.net for info on her experiences with that. S S
My dd is 8yrs old. She has anxiety/SM. We did a hair test and ION
panel. She meets the counting rules & has high copper & lead. She
has sluggish conversion of FT4 to FT3 and high normal TSH but NP
didn't think anymore than fixing the deficiencies & getting metals
out would be needed. She had the following deficiencies: B5, folic
acid, iodine, selenium, magnesium, molybdenum, vanadium, omega 3's
We haven't started chelating yet. We needed to get supplements
introduced first. We introduced them one at a time about 1-2 weeks
apart. We didn't notice any obvious signs that she wasn't
tollerating them. We also started the SCD diet to prevent yeast
when introducing B vitamins. (she didn't have yeast overgrowth at
time of testing) We did noice a big negative change with starting
SCD that hasn't gone away & I don't think is " die off " . She is
having a horrible time at school with anxiety and " shutting down " .
She had been making progress at school up untill this yr. (this is a
new school for her and may all be due to that. but how to tell? we
are working with the school) Now we are worse than ever before. At
home she is no longer able to go to sleep alone and gets in our bed
everynight like when she was 3. She won't stay alone in any room of
the house and keeps asking if the doors are locked. B vitamins are problematic for some. The P5P was the last introduced and we haven't seen her typical signs of yeast yet but I do think its too soon to know. We were on a typical crappy American diet up untill this summer when we eliminated milk but not butter or cheese. We started eating GF bread, waffles, & cereal but didn't eliminate all gluten. She was eating a lot of pasta, her favorite food, and pringles & cheetos. But she did also eat lots of fruits & veggies. She's not fond of sweets. Now on SCD she eats scrambled eggs for breakfast or almond flour/carrot waffles, lunch is a almond flour/carrot waffle too or deviled eggs with salad or raw veggies, dinner is typically steak or chicken grilled and veggies. As I'm typing this I'm wondering if the almond flour is causing a problem because of the copper. Nuts are high copper, right? We have been planning on going off of SCD slowly if she stays yeast free. Our ds is going great on it though.
Guest guest
Yes, most nuts are high copper. Consider backing off the B vitamins for a while and see if things calm down. I remember Dana writing that her kids didn't tolerate B's until after she had chelated them for something like 50 rounds. Hope you're using organic meat. > Now that she's on the SCD, give us an idea what she is eating...or
the main things she's not eating not that she was eating before. I was never able to consider SCD because my son did not tolerate most of the foods on that diet. Do you use enzymes? That might help, altho enzymes did not help my son with those foods. Try leaving SCD, or at least remove all orange and green foods and supplements, see if that helps. > Lactobaacillus Sporogenes 1.5 bil CFU 1Xday > Olive leafe extract 250mg +250mg olive leaf 1Xday > Magnesium glycinate 200mg 3Xday > Kelp (iodine 400mcg) 1Xday > folacal 800mcg folinic acid 1Xday > P5P 50mg 1Xday > Ester C 1000mg 3Xday > Nordic Naturals ultimate omega 3Xday > zinc gluconate 25mg 1Xday > Unique E 400IU 1Xday > Selenium 200mcg 2xday > biotin 1000mcg 1xday > pro-bio gold 1xday > vanadium 5mg 1xday > taurine 500mg 1xday Several of these supplements are green, and many of them caused increased yeast for my son. A few caused problems for other reasons. You wrote that you added them one at a time and did not notice any problems, which leads me to believe that SCD is not a good diet for your child. Try adding back some non-SCD foods, and cut back or eliminate some of the new SCD foods that he never ate before, see if that helps. Guest guest
Regarding tolerating B's, how do you 'chelate them for 50 rounds'? I don't understand what that means? Thanks Comment From Sheppard
Guest guest
Dana has said that her child(ren) didn't tolerate B vitamins until after she had chelated the child(ren) for about 50 rounds. So, she tried B vitamins and they couldn't tolerate them. She chelated without supplementing B vitamins, probably checking every once in a while to see if they tolerated them or not. Around round 50 she discovered that the child(ren) could tolerate them. Check www.danasview.net for her description of the situation. Apparently the toxic metals were causing them to be unable to tolerate the B vitamin and once enough of the toxic metals were chelated out, they could then tolerate them. I was referring to chelating toxic metals. In Dana's case she used oral ALA. HTH, S S
Regarding tolerating B's, how do you 'chelate
them for 50 rounds'? I don't understand what
that means? Thanks I gave ALA for three days, then four days without ALA, then another three days with ALA, then another four days without ALA. Each seven day period is a " round " . Guest guest
I wanted to give an update to you. We found out last week our dd was being mistreated and abused at school. All of our concerns about the SCD diet or supplements were most likely unfounded. We are now keeping our daughter at home and safe and will be dealing with the aftermath of what the school did to her. I am so angry but really need to put it behind us and move forward with healing her. " My dd is 8yrs old. She has anxiety/SM. We did a hair test and ION > panel. Guest guest
For me personally as a toxic adult, inositol has helped, as well as magnesium and Adrenal Cortex for adrenal issues. For my young son, ACE has helped as well greatly. A lot of his anxiety stemmed from adrenal distress. Hope this helps. Irene
Guest guest
Thanks, irene. I posted my hair test results and it didn't look as if adrenals were an issue. There have been a lot of threads lately about adrenals but I didn't connect the 2 together. Thismay be a dumb question but does adrenal stress have anything to do with oxidative stress? s.
