Guest guest
Sue, Sometimes when kids cycle up and down like this, it can be due to viral issues, and the yeast doesn't help. When we finally relented to putting ours on an rx antifungal we could scarcely believe the difference in her fine motor skills as I'm thinking systemic yeast infections affect her central nervous system. So, some questions: How long have you been chelating? Have you done any antiviral treatment? There is a time during chelation when either things slow down to a stall or they get worse. This is usually after a period of great improvement that I think I heard you post about just prior to your boy's latest troubles. If you keep chelating it does get better. I know how disheartening these regressions can be but they are usually short lived. I hope your little guy is up to par soon. [ ] Horrendous regression- why I am now convinced he has candida in the brain I saw my son wake up the other Tuesday and he had regressed. Ever since he has been on maximum antifungals but non systemic ones, as he has reacted so badly to systemic ones in the past. He has been on antifungals for 7 yrs now. The regression started 3 days after a round. Everyone correctly says to up the anti yeast protocol but I knew that short of giving the major players (which he regresses on severely) we were in fact doing everything correctly. We have been away for 5 days during which he has exhibited full blown autistic behaviour in waves, sometimes constantly. His eyes are glazed and he has thrush down below. All CDSA results have always shown neg to all bacteria and candida, but the OAT show incredibly high levels, off the scale, always the same. Both my partner and I are now convinced it is systemic, probably in the brain. Has the chelation triggered metal movement and the blow up of the yeast in the brain? CAn you help me as to the best anti fungals for systemic use and a good protocol please? He has reduced PST so I have to watch his diet and detox pathways are a lot less than normal... We really have had a stressful and depressing holiday. Sue
Guest guest
Sue, also wanted to say that yeast can become resistant to probiotics you are using all the time. Have you alternated his probiotics? [ ] Horrendous regression- why I am now convinced he has candida in the brain I saw my son wake up the other Tuesday and he had regressed. Guest guest
-Thanks very much for your reply , We have been chelating Cutler style since Feb this year with big gaps due to gut problems & yeast but had done nearly a year with gaps using the negative scheduling and TD creams and didn't see an improvement until we used the Cutler DMSA/ALA protocol. Then we have seen gains but had to stop again due to appalling all over body rashes this autumn. Restarted and had just finished the first round after that break when this happened. I have been using Therabiotic, then Culturelle then KM Sacc B and acidpohilus but maybe I need to use one for longer then rotate. We did the HD Vit A trial in September then had to pull the CLO due to fears that he had a toxicity rash. Have just restarted it yesterday at half a tsp for in case vit A level has dropped now. He has been on OLE x 3 daily and lauricidin x 2 for some time now. I am pretty sure it is yeast due to licking, spinning and giggling and thrush symptoms. I know viruses are a problem as he regressed after the MMR. I am worried to chelate with thsi severe yeast. I am wondering if I should just use ALA for a round as he seemed in the past to respond well on eac round of this, also less powder for the yeast to eat as the caps are only small. What do you think? Guest guest
Sue, I might try dropping the OLE and Lauricidan and see if I could get his yeast under better control, or at least during the next round, then try adding them back when things are more calm. You might try some Oregon Grape for his yeast, it is said to be effective. I have also heard others talk about an herb called Kudzu root, I haven't used it yet, but some reports say it is wonderful for yeast. Giving lots of Biotin has worked a few times here as has increasing molybdenum, how's his copper levels? I always feel good using just Ala for a round, works and is good for them, we even use it alone for a round if ours has a cold. Hope your little guy feels better in a few days, yeast is very nasty, I hate it. We've had really good results for yeast with lactobacillus sporogenes by throne for our dd. We give it every am and then rotate other probiotics with it for the pm dose. When we first started with it I gave it 3 times a day untill the rash was gone. We also use OLE daily and biotin. You may want to drop the lauricidin, it causes yeast for some. I hope he's feeling better soon.
Guest guest
Sue, Given our experience with OLE and Valtrex and yeast, I think 's suggestion to remove those temporarily makes great sense. We ended up having to go off the antivirals to get yeast under control. Even with Rx antifungals, I couldn't get the yeast down with the antivirals in place. If I were you I would probably hold off on chelating until yeast is somewhat more manageable. But that may just be me.
