Guest guest
Here are our most recent regressions and gains. I decided that I could not continue to slow down on chelating, so we've ramped it up after having a few weeks where child #1 asked for a week or two off of supplements and regressed. He had less eyecontact, more blank stare at his computer, less social, and was less talkative. When he didn't take enough enzymes on accident several times, the same dermatitis (red raw spots) he had eight months or so ago before starting houstons enzymes, came back to his skin. He now is understanding more and more what the supplements are doing for him. Child #1, age 17, resumed the zinc loading, and the other things I've listed before (LONG LIST). I called the pfeiffer center, and they said that the children they worked with continued to zinc load past two months, with the amino acid mixture (a blend of 14 amino acids). I started giving child #1 several items the pfeiffer center was giving, p5p, tmg, l-methionine, and chromium picolinate. I don't know that I can continue these, since we are cutting spending to the bare bones (whatever that is...I think so much of it is important. I've cut out borage oil). I'm adding lithium (again-not with the plan of cutting back..oh well.) I don't know if any of our wows are from these new aminoes, I doubt it. I think maybe he might be getting enough aminoes just from the extra absorption from houstons enzymes and regular food. Oh, speaking of foods, he's added new foods, like fruits, and orange juice. We are transitioning into the SCD diet, and we added cheese to the diet in order to do this, but with enzymes. I am trying to make it to where the only food served here is SCD food, and if he want's other foods he has to drive to get it himself. That's my plan for him to get 50 hours of driving in with us so he can get his license. I'm experimenting with raw goat yogurt and kefir. On rounds, we are probably around round 20 of ala/dmsa, I am starting to lose count. His OCD fear of leaving the house continues to be gone. He has been to two more video game tournaments and taken second place in two v. two halo2, and first place in four v. four halo2 with his team. We continue to work on the teamwork skills and getting along with his 2v2 team mate, but he now will automatically thank the organizers. When going through a store, instead of us leading him and asking sales help and directing him. He will now lead, find the item himself, independently. He will now give himself supplements instead of me placing them in his mouth. He gets offended when I do things for him that I used to do, in many little ways. I used to put drops in his mouth, now he is embarrassed if I do that, and looks at me with horror. So I hand it to him and he gives himself the supplements when he is home. He has gone over to a friends house for five weeks out of the last three months. While there, he eats their food (pizza and cereal, subway, taco bell), and takes enzymes. I think part of the reason he goes over there since we went on the SCD diet. He says he can breathe better over there because of his chemical sensitivity, and he says that he can think better over there because it is quiet, and it helps his migraines. We had some bumpy times where he would not take the supplements as directed while over there. We explained to him more and more how important it was and what some of the supplements were for. While over at his friends two weeks ago, he had a failed round of chelation, where we had to stop mid round. This last weekend, he just completed a round of chelation on his own at his friends house. He has been giving himself all of his supplements. His cellphone alarm, and my cellphone alarm are both set, and I call him when its time, to remind him. I was amazed that he completed a round by himself. He wouldn't have been able to go over there during a round again if we had to stop early again. I have all of his meal enzymes, clo, and oreganol in ziplock snack bags that he takes whenever he eats. If he eats a lot, he knows to take extra apf peptizyde (after he saw what happens to his face if he doesn't). We have now correlated his bad breath to yeast, so when it flares up, we ramp up our yeast protocol. I almost have him understanding what several of the supplements do for him. Also, that he cannot drink a lot of soda without getting yeast. He has experimented with diet cola, and doesn't like the chemicals in them and the way they make him feel. He takes his probiotics after his meals. 4x a day he takes all of his supplements that I put in his pillminder & sent with him. He has two things, the orthomega fish oil, and the grapefruit seed extract (custom 3 drops into size 3 gelatin capsules), that he takes with the pillminder pills because they would'nt fit in the pillminder. He gives himself the candex away from meals. I gave him pascalite clay, and instructed him to take it if he had dieoff. While over at his friends where it is quiet, he was able to study the driver's manual and feels confident that he can pass the driver's exam. I am going to take him to take the written driver's test within the next couple weeks, and over the next 6 months, my husband is beginning to teach him how to drive. He has completed life skills, of going outside the home socially, rinsing his mouth daily with a water pic, bathing weekly, clipping and cleaning out nails, washing hands with soap, and now soon to be driving!!! Driving is something that myself, my cousin, my friends, didn't think was realistic for him. My husband thinks he can drive and be a good driver, and thinks he can teach him. Neil on this list had offered to help Child #1 with his computer problem, but my son had never got together with him. Without being prompted, Child #1 spent two weeks and fixed all but a harddrive issue on his computer, by himself! I was amazed, that he took initiative and that he was able to do most of it. It shows that he knows more about computer's than pressing the on and off button. We are having someone at my husbands work do one thing to the hard drive, then we see if the problem child #1's computer has had for two years is fixed. They say it will be when the hard drive comes back, hopefully making it so he can start the tutorials for 3D Studio Max. Child #1 expressed an interest in studying for the SAT or other exams to try to get a college scholorship. Some of our gains are behavioral, and required more of a nudge than just from chelation. Like requiring him to complete life skills before playing video games. Or making him drive himself if he want's to get food that is off of the diet. I feel that we couldn't have nudged him behaviorally into these new life skills if it weren't for the supplements and chelation and the gains that he has experienced. My cousin just had to point out though, that we are doing behavioral things to get our gains too.
