Guest guest
His molybdenum is not that high according to his hair test. If he is doing well I would continue to give it, as it is needed to counter copper. The high end of the range is .13 he is .17, which is not a great elevation. And also remember that this is what he is excreting..not using. And if he had deranged mineral transport, these mineral levels many not accurately reflect what he is utilizing. I cannot determine that without the over/under stats from the test. And continue to reduce all sources, including tap water from copper pipes. Also he is a bit high in aluminum. Reduce sources as well. And no ALA unless his copper levels are lower. DMSA is fine. > > > > Hi there, > > > > I have just been reading through some past posts for HIGH copper. > > We have completed 2 rounds of DMSA (1/4 dose), one 3 day, one 5 > > day. Guest guest
Hi Jan, Thanks so much for your post. I am not sure what the over and under stats are to provide you. We live in newer home so I will need to look into weather we have copper pipes but we do us reverse osmosis water for drinking and have a water softner throughout our home that removes chlorine. Thanks again Jan!! Guest guest
-All homes have copper pipes for the most part. Or lead. Since your home is newer is should be copper. I don't know what the levels would be in your water with the filters. Ask the dealer of the filters. Do use a pool, spa etc. that has algacide added. Another source of copper. If you check Moria's site it tells you how to post the results of your test. Which includes whether the essential elements were over 50% or under 50%. This is how we determine how many highs and lows you have in relation to the counting rules. -- In , " darciannklotz " <bdnwk1@...> wrote: > > > > Hi Jan, > > Thanks so much for your post. Guest guest
Hi Jan, We have been in our new home for a year now and my son's last hair test was in Jan. of 2006 which was a 19 and now a 79. We had just moved in when his last hair test was done. Now I can only wonder about our water. Do you know of a test to test water for copper? He was drinking bottled water before moving in and we had a reverse osmosis put in, but now I am wondering if it is clearing out copper or not. Do you know if bottled water contains copper or not? I also am wondering why his blood comes up low copper. It seems he must be excreting copper if it is in his hair, is this correct? Maybe I should go back to bottled water for drinking until I can confirm that the reverse osmosis is clear of copper. Thanks for the information. I am going to try and find the information you mentioned on Moria's site. Thanks again. Guest guest
Darci, We have a RO system as well and it certainly would remove copper. First thing to check is that your RO system is not in Maintenance/Bypass mode. You would be getting water, but it wouldn't be going through the RO system. If the blood tests are coming back low copper, then the Moly and Zinc are probably working. My guess is that last summer you did a quite a lot of swimming in pools, the chemicals to kill algie are high in copper, that probably soaked directly into the hair thus skewing the results. If you are getting low copper in the blood, and the hair test results are just barely on the high side, I would consider not worrying so much about it and get on with chelating with DMSA. Our son had this very same situation and we concluded that it was from all the pool time and moved on. Good Luck ! Guest guest
Hi Neil, Do you know how I would check the mode of the RO? I just took a look under the sink but do not see any switches. My sons copper is now off the charts on his current hair results. He went from a 19 last year in Jan to a 79 (VERY elevated) this month. However like I said his blood shows very low. We swam a total of 7 days in July this summer. We just ran another blood test this week so we'll see what it says now. I was under the impression that hair is a better indicator of copper than blood, is this not true? His hair also showed elevated molybdenum. Thanks Neil!!! Guest guest
We need colors on the hair test and over or under 50% on the essentials in order to help interpret without straining our brains too much. S S
Hi there,

I posted my son DDI hair results a couple days ago, but haven't
heard anything back and I am wondering if I should decrease the
amount of Molybdenum I am giving because it is high or what I should
do because his copper level is so high as well. Currently I am
giving him 600mcg of Molybdenum 3x's a day and 75 mg of zinc 3x's a
day - given together away from calcium. My son is 38-39 lbs 4 years
old. I find it interesting that on both his last blood tests his
copper came back low. We just ran another one this week so I am
curious as to what it returns. He is doing better than he has in a
long time right now (after 2 rounds of DMSA). I just don't know how
to proceed with getting the copper out. He does take a custom amino
acid as well and his Taurine on his last blood test was 82 ref: 31-
113. Can copper increase quickly according to foods given? I have
stopped giving him nuts and buckwheat.

Any suggestions would be so helpful if anyone has had this issue
before.

Thanks,
Darci

>
> Hi there,
>
> I have just been reading through some past posts for HIGH copper.
> We have completed 2 rounds of DMSA (1/4 dose), one 3 day, one 5
> day. Guest guest
Hi there, I have had to take a break for a while, very overwhelmed with all these test results. I have reposted the colors etc below Calcium 154 ref 125-370 green lower than 50% > > Magnesium 16 ref 12-30 green lower than 50% > > Sodium 40 12-90 white at 50% > > Potassium 97 ref 12-40 yellow above 50% > > Copper 79 ref 8.0-16 red above 50% > > Zinc 110 ref 100-190 green below 50% > > Manganese .38 ref .20-.55 yellow below 50% > > Chromium .38 ref .26-.50 green above 50% > > Vanadium .072 ref .030-.10 green above 50% > > Molybdenum .17 ref .050-.13 yellow above 50% > > Boron 1.7 ref.60-4.0 white at 50% > > Iodine 2.1 ref .25-1.3 yellow above 50 > > Lithium .062 ref .007-.023 yellow above 50% > > Phosphorus 163 ref 163-250 green below 50% > > Selenium .70 ref .95-1.7 yellow below 50% > > Strontium .39 ref .16-1.0 white at 50% > > Sulfur 46800 ref 4500-53000 green below 50% > > Barium .26 ref .16-.80 green below 50% > > Cobalt .007 ref .013-.035 red below 50% > > Iron 11 ref 8.0-19 white at 50% > > Germanium .0333 ref .045-.065 yellow below 50% > > Rubidium .12 ref .016-.18 green above 50% > > Zirconium 1.7 ref .040-1.0 yellow above 50% > > > > > > Aluminum 25 ref less than 8.0
red above 95th > > Antimony .21 ref less than .066
red above 95th > > Arsenic .049 ref less than .080
> > Beryllium less than .01 ref less than .020
> > Bismuth .49 ref less than .13
yellow > > Cadmium .009 ref less than .15
> > Lead .39 ref less than 1.0
> > Mercury .12 ref less than .40
> > Platinum less than .003 ref less than .005
> > Thallium less than .001 ref less than .010
> > Thorium .001 ref less than .005
> > Uranium .092 ref less than .060
yellow > > Nickle .12 ref less than .40
> > Silver .06 ref less than .20
> > Tin .37 ref less than .30
yellow > > Titanium .65 ref less than 1.0
yellow The ones not listed are in the green. I find it interesting that his blood results show low copper in the red, I am not sure what to think of this all. His aluminum is also very high in the blood. Please help if you have any recommendations. I have continued to give my son Molybdenum even though he is in the yellow, hoping to bring the copper down, but now with the blood showing low I am at a loss as what to do. Any ideas as to why copper would be so high in hair and low in blood. Thanks again.
