re-testing copper level

My dd had copper in the red/high on her hair elements test back in

June. She also had low/red Molybdenum. She had lead in the green but

approaching the yellow. She met the counting rules. She had aluminum

in the yellow. She also had an ION profile that showed high aluminum,

& exposure to lead, arsenic & mercury. The copper level wasn't high

on the ION panel. The DAN thought the copper on the hair test was

accurate because the molybdenum was also low & it correlates with her

symptoms-high anxiety. We've been supplementing with zinc twice a day

and molybdenum for the copper. She's taking lots of other supps as

well. We've done about 5 rounds of DMSA Andy's protocol. (wish it

were more but my heads not clear enough and probably won't be till I

get my last two fillings out and chelate myself)

I'm thinking of retesting. I'd like to know when its safe to add ALA

for her. We are also chelating her brother. He started before her

with DMSA then both DMSA & ALA, then ALA alone. When we found that

the lead was coming form our water (not the copper though) we removed

the ALA and went back to DMSA alone for him. I'd like to go back to

ALA for him too but worry if its safe since they've had recent lead

exposure.

Questions: Is a DDI hair elements test the best way to check copper

level? (btw, don't want to go back to the DAN)

Is it safe to use ALA along with DMSA if you have recent lead

exposure? Thanks

ala is not going to matter if you have had recent lead exposure. My

son takes dmsa/ala for lead. The recent exposure with ala only

applies to mercury.

ALA doesnt really move much for lead and it won't take it into his

brain or anything. DMSA is key for lead though.

As for a mercury toxic kid you can hold off on the ala for a while

anyway. It is best to do many rounds of dmsa before adding ala. With

the other metal load she has plain dmsa would be fine for a while.

I still cannot take the ala. It takes some mercury toxic people 20

or more round of dmsa before they can add ala. It makes me really

sick still even at doses of 5mg. The low molybdenum suggests a

copper issue. So does mercury exposure. But keep in mind that

mercury causes copper problems along with molybdenum deficiency,

which further feeds the copper issue. And the low zinc is due to

lead exposure. It seems logical to use dmsa for a while. Maybe

retest in 6 months following more dmsa rounds. See where her hair

copper is then, her molybdenum, and her zinc. More rounds and her

newly added supplements may make the ala go easier at that time.

And you can use hair tests for copper.
