Guest guest
There is a study in T. Murray's book that C up to 10 grams did NOT increase oxalate production. B6, magnesium (these two specifically) and Vitamin K are reported to reduce oxalates. Reducing oxalates in foods actually increases oxalate production as the replacement foods increase the need for B6 and magnesium which then increases the oxalate production. I flirted with LOD last fall, getting the supps in place and starting to reduce high oxalate foods. I can't be certain but I did think dropping vit C caused trouble, and I bailed on the diet. Recently I shifted n's antiviral protocol from kitchen-cabinet approach (lysine, echinacea, transfer factor, sambucol, mushroom extract, LDN) to only LDN and high-dose vit C. I haven't gotten as high as Dana -- we're up to 25 g/day so far, with no diarrhea yet -- but it's working really well. Did you use an alternative antioxidant, or figure whatever else you were giving covered it? I haven't crossed LOD off the list forever, but I admit I'm hoping I won't have to revisit it....
