Guest guest
The Autism One conference was terrific -- of course the best part was hanging out with Mandi . I'm about to jump in my nightly Epsom bath but here's my overview....it seems to me that the basic science explaining the various ways things have gone wrong in our kids is slowly advancing. More pieces of the puzzle are dropping into place, and it seems like there's decent consensus about that. Clinically though things are all over the place, with various clinicians wanting to push Their Way and dissing the other clinicians. I didn't meet anyone doing Andy's protocol but I did my best to spread the word . Sure met plenty of people whose kids weren't doing well with 8 hr dosing . If you're interested in getting the audio CDs or DVDs, you can get the whole set or order individual presentations. I heard Megson and Herbert (and ordered the DVDs because believe me I'm going to need more viewings before that stuff sinks in)and they were both fabulous. Herbert's a Harvard neurologist, and I asked her how close she thinks we are to a tipping point, where the mainstream view lets go of the " autism is genetic and hard-wired " crap and accepts the Hg/virus causation. SHe said it's not that far off, that the necessary work is finally getting underway, that people are doing stuff now that a few years ago they'd never have considered. More later. It was deeply wonderful to be with that many people, all of whom *understand. We're family. Nell
