When to stop treating for yeast

Hi All,

When does everybody stop treating for yeast? We have been treating my

son for yeast for forever. The last few weeks, we have been giving

him one dose of Nystatin and one dose of a natural antifungal during

the day. We have rotated the natural antifungal (first OoO, then

black walnut, then uva ursi and now garlic). Yesterday, he had a nice

formed stool and sleep has been incredible for about a week now. We

are still getting the red cheeks and hyper, but I'm wondering if that

could be a result of actually having the yeast under control and so

its more intolerance not die off. He also gets two CP probiotics (35

billion) each day and two culturelle each day. When is the right time

to drop the anitifungals and rely on my probiotics! Thanks so much!

When he was at his worst, I treated for yeast all the time, with no

breaks, for at least a year. If I stopped it came roaring back.

YMMV, but nystatin did nothing here. It might help to give more

frequent doses if you can.

According to Andy, make those rotations long, like months. He says

shrtr rotations only strengthen the yeast against the antifungal. I

did short rotations back when I was treating for yeast all the time,

and I think it may have made things worse.

We

This was phenol intolerance for my son.

You'll have to make a guess, try it, and see what happens. Good luck!

-We treat according to symptoms. If I see that he is yeast free on

the antifungals..we use GSE, then I will stop it and keep the

probiotics going. When I see it reappear, back on the GSE. For my

son though, we can tell quite quickly that the yeast is comming

back. His behavior and eating habits change, and his tongue gets

white. I have been constantly treating yeast since we began this

mess in May. It finally went away about two weeks ago following a

virus where he was unable to eat. It stayed away until we began a

round. So we are treating again. I know with myself having yeast

issues, I am always treating it. It never seems to stay gone for

more than a few days. We are early into chelation though. Only like

14 rounds done.

When it is under control.

During chelation, I stopped after about round 50, because that is when

chelation no longer caused a yeast problem.

During anti-virals, I stopped after about 2-1/2 years, because that is

when antii-virals no longer caused a yeast problem.

This can be phenol intolerance [several of the OTC anti-fungals you

mentioned are high phenol]. Try giving them with No-Fenol enzyme, see

if that helps.

Well, my son only did well on probiotics for a few months, then they

caused bacteria overgrowth symptoms.

However, if you give anti-fungals and they cause bad bacteria, that is

a sign the yeast overgrowth is gone. Try reducing and/or removing the

anti-fungals and see if things improve.
