Guest guest
Thanks, ! My son has made huge gains with chelation - no regression at all. We did HBOT last August (40 dives 1.5 ATA). During HBOT, he began having seizures for the first time in his life. His regression is mostly all related to the seizures. At this point, he can no longer chelate, as chelation brings seizures for him. Prior to HBOT, he completed almost 70 rounds of Andy's DMPS/ALA protocol and was doing very well. We think that the seizures are viral in origin and that HBOT brought about a manifestation of viral issues. Prior to HBOT, he had no elevated Herpes level. Post HBOT, his Herpes 6 is 8 times the reference range. We are getting ready to do Valtex. In a message dated 5/30/2006 4:41:33 P.M. Only time we had issue with that was when his round was stopped unexpectedly and we had big redistribution. He didn't fully come out of that until we did a proper chelation round the following weekend.
Guest guest
I have been planning for my next pregnancy for a couple years. My plan was put on hold because of my son's HBOT related regression/seizures. For quite a while, I've been working with our DAN! on appropriate supplements and nutrition as well as monitoring my thyroid. My ASD son is 7 and is doing quite well, except for the seizure issues which can be quite difficult . I also have a 5 year old very NT son, who was saved because I chose (after reading Mothering magazine, but before knowing that I shouldn't vaccinate at all) to only a llow one vaccine a month. He did have a tiny speech delay, which went away with 5 rounds of chelation at age 3. Like said, my two boys are also twin-like. They have the same interests and are the best of friends. I cannot imagine them not having each other. There are pros and cons about having another baby, but we feel that there are many more pros. We will definitely need and will have help at our house. My second was born when my first was 2 1/2 and we were just getting an ABA program started. Supplements are coming and going and there was a ton going on. But...having my second son around has been an amazing for my ASD son. He forces him to interact, bugs him constantly. I have had them sharing a room from the beginning, they were together all the time! They are so very close now. As my NT son gains skills and vocabulary my ASD son is encouraged to do the same. It at times is almost like having twins. They potty trained about the same time...that kind of thing. I have always said if I knew my first was autistic at that time I was wanting to get pregnant I wouldn't have for a long time if ever again. I still believe that would be true. I wouldn't have done it with the information I had. I also know it would have been a huge mistake not to have had my second son. That child has been an enormous blessing to my ASD son, not to mention just a blessing!!! Hard, yes it will be. Getting as much organized before the baby comes will be very important. Take help from anyone who offers even if it is just to help with grocery shopping or other errand. If you belong to a church family get them as involved as you need. I know the teens in our church are wonderful and have helped me when my husband was on an extended business trip. It might seem imposing but many people feel great joy when they are able to help others. Good advice though to make sure your body is ready to have another baby. Proper nutrition is crucial. If you suspect any issues with yourself maybe taking digestive enzymes to ensure you are absorbing the vitamins and minerals. I know they have helped me tremendously. Good luck!!! Guest guest
Lightbulb!!! I remember you talking about this before!!! Sorry!!! Viral treatment sounds promising, I will be curious to see how it goes. Please post about it. A friend of mine who is an adult started having seizures a couple years ago. I am about to start doing research for her hoping to help. Doctors are only looking at drugs and she is now pregnant so that really isn't a good option for her. We are just starting a viral program with our son. We are doing Virastop right now with extra vitamin A. We are going to see how it goes and up both accordingly. As soon as I can I want to add the OLE as well. So far I am already seeing positive changes especially verbally. I have been thinking about the HOBT and am thinking we might give it a go if after viral treatment and chelation therapy are over. We will see where he is at that point. Good luck to you!! Guest guest
If you are going with Valtrex next, you may wish to chime into the MB12valtrex group. The group was founded by Stan Kurtz whose son was cured by valtrex. There is so much that is not known about why and how valtrex helps ASD kids. All the best. JLJukoski@... wrote: Thanks, ! Guest guest
Maybe would be helpful to define " cured " also. Have heard it reported by these parents that the kids still have to stay on a diet. Also, beginning to hear there are still cognitive deficits in the kids they are calling cured with Valtrex, e.g word retrieval problems, saying sentences backward, etc. Everyone will have to judge for themselves, but those two facts make me not use the word " cure " , especially the cognitive stuff. Makes me strongly suspect there is still mercury in the brain. Always grateful for any improvement of any kid, but wondering if the word cure can be used here as it is pretty debilatating to not have almost total command of your speech. Guest guest
Stan stated that his son is " recovered " . I used the word " cured " by mistake. I don't know if that makes it more defined but I needed to correct myself. Cochran <Ladyshrink111@...> wrote: Maybe would be helpful to define " cured " also. Guest guest
To me, cured and recovered mean the same things. I do note the miraculous improvement but recovered, to me, means no trace of the illness remains. Maybe I am being too black and white, but if you recover from cancer, you don't have just a little cancer. It is hard to tell recovery sometimes, because you don't know the child's capabilities if they had not been poisoned with mercury, however, again, pretty clear to me if there are pretty serious residual speech/language issues like saying sentences backwards or word retrieval problems, that, IMHO, is not likely to be a recovery or a cure. Just my opinion, Re: [ ] effective methods for parents of ASD kids to manage stress If you are going with Valtrex next, you may wish to chime into the MB12valtrex group.
