Guest guest
My 23 mos ASD Son (diagnosed at 23 mos), will be begginning chelation this week but I would like to share some of the successes we have had with supplementation and diet as my way of giving back to this message board which I feel I have so far only taken from. At 19 mos - non verbal, non communicative, non social, diarrea and constipation with lots of undigested food. With the help of this site and many books I placed him on a GFCFSF diet starting at 21 mos, and saw limited but still some success with eye contact and stool. And the rest is as follows: Introduced Probiotics: first solid stool Introduced Super Nu Thera: No noticeable diff CLO: no noticable diff DMG: super hyper had to stop, no noticeable gains AFTER gFCF for 1 mos I noticed he was sensitive to phenols, but didn't know what to do about it. Still has inconsitant stools loose water undigested. Went SCD for 3 weeks - got a nice stool (still SCD) and no more undigested food in the stool. Doubled Probiotics like ANDY said (stools got better) Added No Fenol: Huge improvement with the phenols, my son always had maniacal laugter in the middle of the night, and before bed, with the no-fenols it completely stops. I ran out of no-fenol after 2weeks and that night he woke up like clock work with the maniacal laughter again. not a coincidence. Added Peptizyze: not sure if improvement Finally Diagnoses ASD at 23 (mos) GSE: gross stools have turned consistantly less gross. Molybenum seems to help allot: possible also with fenols. Zinc: no noticable diff Since I've been addressing the phenol problem my son has started giving kisses on the lips on command. Which is probably good training on my part, but definately an improvement. We are still non verbal - but, his non-verbal communication is on the rise and he like to snuggle and sit on laps and look at books now so we are on the move. Thanks for all of the help, sarah
Guest guest
Hi , Congratulations on the improvements, and good on you for being so methodical about listing your interventions and your observations. It may sound basic, but is still a struggle for many of us when you have so much to deal with. It is lovely to hear about improvements, and to also see that you have not been discouraged from the biomed approach because some of the supplements did not suit your child at this time. Good on you, and good luck for the chelation. Sue
