Guest guest
Nothing is working for our son. Please help us. We have tried so many things...ABA, chelation, b-12 shots, supplements, the diet, speech therapy, OT, etc. Why is nothing helping? He just keeps regressing. I feel so desperate right now. And his father says nothing but negative things about how he'll never get better. I just want to scream!

As far as chelation, did you confirm toxicity with a hair test (and is it posted)? What chelator(s), what dose, what frequency did you use? How did he react to chelation - on rounds and at the end of rounds? Are you avoiding things like chlorella, NDF, Metal-Free, and other non-chelating substances that can cause problems? Have you addressed sulfur status (low or high sulfur diet/supps)? You do not mention anti-virals in the list of things you have tried. What about gut support, such as enzymes, yeast protocol? --
Guest guest
Oral and transdermal chelation didn't work for my son. Though I would recommend trying them first. But here are the results from the most recent chelation attempts. Unprovoked - means no chelator used EDTA suppository... , and the combo on the end is DMPS and EDTA IV the same visit. Guest guest
I agree with the writer who said that maybe you need a supplement break. Dana has often said that her children would regress when they no longer needed a particular supplement. You could then slowly reintroduce what you feel is absolutely vital. I also know that there are supplements which my daughter doesn't tolerate. For example, synthetic Vitamin C is often derived from corn. Here's a link to a document called Mastering Autism. Williss/files/ It's located in the FILES section of another Group. It's a wonderful resource which discusses just about every aspect of supplements, etc. in treating autism. I printed a copy and made notes in the margins and highlighted it. I also keep it on my computer to use the word find function. It's quite lenghty. If you are like me, you'll have several instances where you'll say, that's my child. There are many ideas you could employ. In the mean time, have a heart to heart with your husband. Show him examples of how other children have recovered. Dana's site, Generation Rescue, etc. My daughter has come so far, that my husband is a true believer. We've gone done several paths which were horrific and absolutely wrong. I offered him a weekend away from me and the kids about a month ago. I was shocked when he said that he'd rather stay home so that we could do a round of chelation. Renew your resolve because this task was appointed to you. If you don't find a way, no one else will. > > Nothing is working for our son. Please help us. Guest guest
Yes, I agree about the supplement break. One of my kid's biggest problems is sleep. Last week I didn't give him any supplements that day just because we were so busy. He slept like a baby that night! So I took a cue from that and have slowly re-introduced supplements one a day at normal doses. This has helped a lot! There is obviously something I was giving him too much of, or he doesn't need anymore. If I remember, Dana's kid's are only on one or two supplements each. winnchimes orelindel <whatmattersmost@...> wrote: I agree with the writer who said that maybe you need a supplement break. Guest guest
I have found that when all else fails (I don't know what you have / have not tried) you should test your son for high testosterone. High testosterone seems to make other therapies like chelation and MB12 ineffective. When you test, be sure to stop all therapies (other than vitamins) for 3 weeks. Guest guest
Rene: Zach is taking Brainchild nutrients, GSE 2xs a day 2 drops, claritin in the morning for allergies, melatonin at night (he sleeps great from it), Omega369 by nordic naturals, TD-DMPS every other day (we tried andy's protocol and saw zero improvements...we were seeing slight improvements but they stopped with this protocol too). We have tried the diet (4 months gf/cf/egg/peanuts/etc. etc.), enzymes, b-12 injections. We have ALA, virastop and olive leaf extract in our possession but haven't tried them. We don't have a doctor so I guess I'm afraid to try things without knowing what is going on with Zach. > > > > Nothing is working for our son. Please help us. Guest guest
Have you identified and reduced/removed sources of all of those? Did you apply counting rules? What did that reveal? ALA chelates arsenic, some say that apple pectin/malic acid help get rid of aluminum, some say SAMe or a home-made version of something similar helps get rid of antimony, tin generally goes down as other toxic metals are decreased. S S
hair test a year ago showed aluminum, arsenic, antimony and tin. we
were chelating with TD-DMPS.
_______________________________________________ Join Excite! - http://www.excite.com The most personalized portal on the Web! Guest guest
I second this. Testosterone levels in my 3 year old were through the roof. He had 17 when he was supposed to have 2-5 - for a 33lb 3 year old as per the statistical sample average from labcorp. After going on Lupron - geier protocol - they shot up before comming down. Went to 91 and then to 34, then hit 20's and then dropped back to the teens and then finally to under detection limit. 3 months of spike. Adult males who get on Lupron experience a 2-3 week spike. It just shows you how much he had stored up. BTW this kid had already showed response to NDF, B12, school and several other treatments. He also didn't have gut issues nor does he have any detectable Gluten/casein behavior changes. AKA GFCF did nothing. Testosterone definetly intervenes with chelation and definetly gets in the way of excreting metals. It also makes them scatter brained and agressive. In any case The very first protocol we tried was Dr Geier's and he is turning out to be a textbook case. So I dont have any thing else to compare it to. Cool. Srinath. >From: " dannenedrummond " <dannenedrummond@...> >Reply- > >Subject: [ ] Re: nothing working >Date: Fri, 04 Aug 2006 02:22:24 -0000 > >abid...i have always wanted to have that tested...something makes me >think that may be true. > > > > > > > > Nothing is working for our son. That was very successful at eliminating quite a few of my son's issues. You might try removing everything for a while. Once my son no longer needed a supplement, continuing to give it to him would cause the same issues that at one time it eliminated. What are his issues that you want to address? Guest guest
Dana: His issues are he is very hyper, has no attention span, has severe apraxia, taps things all day long, stims with his eyes a lot. The tapping thing is the worst! Oh, and I can't tell if he is being aggressive with his sister (20months) or not. He goes up to her all the time and throws himself into her lap laughing hysterically. She cries and he chases her around to push into her or fall into her lap again. She is very afraid of him and throws punches when he is near On a positive note, he is always happy, has perfect poops and was potty trained at 3, has great eye contact, attempts to imitate everything you ask him to (you just can't understand it from the apraxia), and has really good receptive language > > > > Nothing is working for our son. Guest guest
: we don't have a doctor and haven't been able to test him to see if any of the metals have come out. we never identified sources for them but we recently moved so maybe the sources are gone. I eliminated any sources I could think of. I am thinking of trying ALA but want to find a transdermal form because I won't be able to force my son to drink in the middle of the night. >
hair test a year ago showed aluminum, arsenic, antimony and tin. we
> were chelating with TD-DMPS.
> > > _______________________________________________ > Join Excite! - http://www.excite.com > The most personalized portal on the Web! >

I wrote on this page, what my son needed to eliminate visual stims http://www.danasview.net/issues.htm Hyper can be several things, like phenol intolerance, yeast overgrowth, certain nutritional deficiencies, certain nutritional toxicities, and virus issues. For my kids, attention was mostly helped with anti-virals. I have read CLO helps with apraxia. Tapping things all day long might be OCD, which for my son was virus related. I'm way behind on the list...but those symptoms make me think of viruses and oils. Have you done any antivirals? And I'm no oil expert but that's a direction I'd look into. CLO, for starters, and Nordic Naturals ProEFA was helpful here (and tolerated). Nell
