Guest guest
Reducing/removing exposure to antimony-containing bedding helps. One can buy chemical-free futons from Soaring Heart Futon in Seattle or through Abundant Earth but need a prescription. Andy suggests multiple washings if you're not going to replace the antimny-laden bedding/pjs. What does the hair elements test show? Neither you nor she has/had ANY mercury amalgam dental fillings? You didn't have Rhogam? No tattoos? Where's the nearest coal-fired power plant? S S My daughter has been following DAN protocol for the past year and started
chelating with oral DMSA in April.

Her RBC minerals (July '05, Feb '06, May '06) have consistently shown
elevated antimony. Has anyone gotten a reduction in antimony by eliminating
all fire retardant treated bedding & clothing? Is it possible to wash out
the fire retardants with ivory soap powder or do I need to just replace
everything? Most of our carpets are ~15 years old, so I can't imagine they
are a significant source anymore.

Also, although last summer her initial RBC minerals showed low levels of
mercury, her more recent pre & post chelation RBC minerals (Feb & May)
showed elevated mercury. I can't figure out a source for this, as she has
not been exposed to seafood, thimerosal, or broken thermometers/florescent
bulbs. Is there anywhere else I should look for an environmental source of
mercury? The only environmental changes at home have been the addition of
vinyl replacement windows last October and she starting a new school in Aug
'05.

And since she is now so well supported nutritionally, I am wondering if she
is just naturally detoxing mercury that had built up in her tissues. Has
anyone seen this happen with your child?

-
_______________________________________________ Join Excite! - http://www.excite.com The most personalized portal on the Web! Guest guest
, Thanks for your thoughts. I looked back at her tests from last June and antimony was below detectible limits in RBC and low in hair. I'm beginning to think that it might be the nylon mesh cots they nap on at school -- they were new as of the start of the academic year. And perhaps the recent increase is the anti-allergy bed coverings I put on last month? If I put untreated cotton sheets over the school cot or over the allergy cover will that cut down on most of the exposure? As for the mercury - neither of us have dental fillings, no Rhogam, no tattoos. (Her primary early exposure was probably albacore tuna I ate during pregnancy & possibly a few vaccines.) The nearest coal fired plant is 10 miles away, but it is small (just powers the local university) and I have no reason to believe it's output has changed since last June when her hair & RBC mercury were very low. - > > My daughter has been following DAN protocol for the past year and started
> chelating with oral DMSA in April.
>
> Her RBC minerals (July '05, Feb '06, May '06) have consistently shown
> elevated antimony. I know of a few parents who have reported that shortly after they removed antimony from their child's environment, the child lost all his food issues and basically *spontaneously* recovered. So, for certain children, this is a possibility. Dana
