Guest guest
> There are no postings on DMPS... you all seem to be doing the DMSA... is there a reason for this and can you give me any feedback on progress in kids on the DMPS I tried oral DMPS for my son, mostly because I wanted to be able to sleep all night through some rounds (you only have to dose DMPS every 8 hours instead of every 3-4). My plan was to alternate rounds of DMPS with rounds of ALA and DMSA (because only ALA gets Hg out of the brain, and DMSA is best for lead). My son is usually better on-round -- more cheerful, more energetic, etc. But not on DMPS. And it was expensive, so I dropped it. YMMV though. Guest guest
Welcome to the list. Many here are chelating without a doc. In the US, ALA and DMSA are available without a prescription but as far as I know DMPS requires a prescription. What dose and dosing schedule are you using? Have you read the FAQs? There's info there about dosing for DMPS. Guest guest
tx so much for the feedback. we tried oral DMSA before with no result. is severely affected by autism with added insult of uncontrollable seizures, non-verbal, etc. He is 9 already so the research on DMPS seemed to fit his profile. We get our TD DMPS from the states, through a dan dr in cape town. we teasted for metals and got a reading of high mercury(not surprised), arsenic and VERY high lead. We have been chelating for one month now....with lots of supplements, 0.6 ml of the gel and cream mixed, every other day, rubbed on:- lower back/shins/inner arms/ thighs. We are seeing worse behaviour(not seem to know what to do with himself) but i are aware that any detox has to get worse first and are therefor encouraged even by the behaviour.... what we are seeing is A WORD OR TWO popping up!!!!!!!!! intent!!! watching and initiating with his two younger brothers and his eye contact is just totally different!!! real and switched on! we are in this for the long run! we believe he is loaded with mercury!!!! lots of classic symptoms, We believe we are seeing a miracle.... which is unheard of in this country, but i am sure on your side there are so many stories to tell! Guest guest
Hi Janine, I have never used DMPS but my understanding is that it should be dosed every 8 hrs to avoid redistribution. Are you treating for yeast? Guest guest
I think most people use DMSA with ALA because DMSA is much cheaper than DMPS and it is available without a prescription so much easier to obtain. I use DMPS to chelate myself and will add ALA soon. The reason I chose DMPS is because I was having trouble waking at night. I will start to use ALA with DMPS as soon as I'm sure that I will be reliable in the middle of the night. > > tx so much for the feedback. > we tried oral DMSA before with no result. is severely >affected by autism with added insult of uncontrollable seizures, >non-verbal, etc. He is 9 already so the research on DMPS seemed to >fit his profile. How did you test? > We have been chelating for one month now....with lots of >supplements, 0.6 ml of the gel and cream mixed, every other day, Using chelators every other day will result in redistribution of metals and increased symptoms. It is best to dose DMPS every 8 h or less. There are posts in the archives from people who used the every other day protocol, had problems, switched to every 8 h, and had much better results. It is cheaper to use DMPS orally, and there are other advantages. Transdermal would only be needed if the child refuses medication by mouth, and even then there are ways to hide medications in foods. >rubbed on:- lower back/shins/inner arms/ thighs. > We are seeing worse behaviour The worse behaviour is a sign of redistribution. It is not necessary with proper chelation. >(not seem to know what to do with >himself) but i are aware that any >detox has to get worse first and are therefor encouraged even by the >behaviour.... what we are seeing is A WORD OR TWO popping up!!!!!!!!! >intent!!! watching and initiating with his two younger brothers and >his eye contact is just totally different!!! real and switched on! > we are in this for the long run! we believe he is loaded with >mercury!!!! lots of classic symptoms, > We believe we are seeing a miracle.... which is unheard of in this >country, but i am sure on your side there are so many stories to >tell! > God bless > South African mom > There are some adults in S Africa who are chelating. If you join the frequent-dose-chelation group you will find them. Good luck J (note - a different ) >
