Guest guest
Thanks for the link Nell. I'll read that and look into my son's CLO dosage. Guest guest
> I have heard that the beta carotine version is safer because you > can't take too much (unlike the palmitate) - is there another reason as well? Beta carotene is not vitamin A, it must be converted into vitamin A by the body. My son's body did not convert it until the end of ALA chelation plus the addition of several supplements, especially selenium. Does your child convert it? Guest guest
Yes, they would be using palmitate, hard to glean that much A out of clo without drinking the whole bottle. IMO, it's kid specific, some kids can't take palmitate, some can't take betacarotene, and some like ours can take it all. [ ] Re: Advaclear? NELL > > I do remember reading that from Megson. I'm going to have to admit it -- I took n to see Megson last week which is why I have palmitate on the brain. We talked about my daughter, who in retrospect I think was autistic her first year (head-banging, not very responsive or smiley, chronic vomiting, diarrhea, and yeast) but who snapped awake, very suddenly, when she turned one and I took her off formula. (She had nursing problems I couldn't overcome no matter what, I think thanks to the $#@%! hep B.) So Megson wondered whether in her case it was getting rid of the palmitate in the formula that helped her so much. If I had been thinking more clearly I'd have wondered about the corn syrup as well. On a different topic, she prescribed Valtrex, LDN, and lithium cream for n. Not sure yet which of those I'll actually do. Definitely the lithium, probably the LDN, very on the fence about the Valtrex. Isn't the troublesome bit, besides response rates, that once the kid comes off the Valtrex, the viruses/problems come right back? I may do it anyway. But wondering if anyone has heard of the improvements sticking withut continued usage. Nell
Guest guest
I think it does stick....for some kids, Nell. There have been kids who have been on Valtrex for 9-12 months and then have had it withdrawn and done fine. It may also make much more difference with n since he has been chelated for so long, at least that is what I have been telling myself. But....if I may say, thinking Vitamin A is Megson's thing, the palmitate, that is. Like when Neubrander looks at a kid all he sees is that the kid needs methyl B12, in shots, no doubt. And Goldberg sees only Valtrex and SSRI's, because the majority of them are looking at one piece of the puzzle. With your daughter there could be a million reasons why she snapped out of it. As kids age, if the damage is not too bad, their need for nutrients decline, so some luck out. Also, I read in Baker's new book that since girls have a larger, more efficient corpus collosom it allows for increased thinking and neural connections across both sides of the brain, compared to boys who are mostly stuck on one side of their brain, no disrepect intended, but I am laughing :-) I think the Valtrex is worth a shot, we're going to do it here. I keep saying that, but just can't make myself give it to her, so I know where you are coming from. I wish you lots of luck. Keep us posted. [ ] Re: Advaclear? Currently, most people use palmitate because the acetate version [i used acetate] is no longer available.
