Guest guest
Jan, How much does your son weigh? The dose might be too high. I would either try 12.5 mg of DMSA or ALA, to see how he does on each one separately before putting them together, and if I found that still wasn't a low enough dose I would try 5 mg per dose. I am a huge adult. Even 18 mg DMSA (less than Andy's recommended range) was rough for me at first. 5 mg ALA per dose was where I started with that. Like says, some people find that they need to take the doses more frequently. Half life is slightly different in individuals. At that point in chelation with my son, dealing with yeast was a major difficulty. I think taking breaks is a good idea. And you could try adding another antifungal, see if that helps. Guest guest
hi my youngest son is 3, we started at him weighing in at 3 stone, so dose was 6mg of both, simply because it was easier to measure out for the first few rounds, ie 100mg capsule, each pile halved and halved again, and halved again to give an approximate dose, weve been going 2 months with him - once a fortnight - we then gave that dose for 3 weeks in a row and then we jumped up to 12.5mg and will hold there until we stop seeing improvement and move up again, i guess well eventually build him up to 25mg, we will give a week off every 6 weeks and see how we go. also id consider another anti-fungal, if you get the option - ie hell take it. hth emma -- In , " lanellici " <lanellici@...> wrote: > > > > > > We just started round six of dmsa/ala at 12.5mg each with my 3.5 year > > old son. Its usually caused by him not drinking enough water during the round or yeast. -S

Yeast overgrowth and mineral depletion can do this. Dana

Even if he was fine on this dose in the past, symptoms can increase at times and it is better to reduce dose and make the process less stressful on his body and on everyone involved. Did you initially try DMSA and ALA separately? You might remove one to identify the culprit. If I get a yeast flareup on round, it doesn't disappear when the round ends, so I'm guessing it's not yeast. > Today was our first day of round six. I think it is not uncommon, but based on my own experience, it is better to reduce dose and not set yourself up for problems. > Any suggestions, or things we can do to make him feel better? I am I don't remember anyone here ever suggesting use of Rescue Remedy. It is a flower essence remedy that can be great for quieting someone who is upset, frightened, raging, angry, etc. You give 4 drops in a cup of water. Usually available at HFS. -- > guessing the behavior is because he is not feeling up to par. Do they > always get worse on a round after a while? Guest guest
Protocol? Every four hours? Too high a dose? Are you giving lots of Vit C? Milk Thistle for liver support? Lots of minerals? Water? Barb [ ] Round six issues..? We just started round six of dmsa/ala at 12.5mg each with my 3.5 year old son. He is on all supplements recommended, GSE and probiotics. He is dairy free. Our last round was horrible. His behavior was insain. Cried, tantrums, hitting, just miserable. I was really hesitant to do another one, so we skipped a week. Gave him time to settle down a bit. He was so sweet and really showing great things on his time off. I even noticed an increase in his attention span! Today was our first day of round six. He was nice this morning, no signs really, but as the day went on and the doses, he started to get irritable, cranky, having fits over everything. I checked some archives and Andy said this was normal for them to get worse on rounds and be better off rounds. Any suggestions, or things we can do to make him feel better? I am guessing the behavior is because he is not feeling up to par. Do they always get worse on a round after a while? I just keep telling myself that this is working and we have to ride out the rough spots!
Guest guest
Barb, Is the recommendation to drink lots of water to help eliminate the chelating agent and mercury/lead, etc, or is it to combat constipation. In other words, does chelating agent cause constipation? Is the Vit C suggestion to combat yeast, or is it important to chelating protocol? --- jromkema <jromkema@...> wrote: > Protocol? Guest guest
Not Barb, but believe the water is to make sure things are moving through the kidneys. Our girl will automatically ask for more water during a round as many do. The C is to lower oxidation as chelation creates oxidation. C is best given 3-4 times a day. Re: [ ] Round six issues..? Guest guest
Water helps flush the toxins through the system. The Vit C helps greatly with unpleasant side effects. Guest guest
Oh yes, I've heard Vit C helps with detoxification of liver, so that would make sense. --- jromkema <jromkema@...> wrote: > Water helps flush the toxins through the > system.
