Our DAN! always recommends a Rocephin IM shot instead of oral antibiotics

when possible.

Does anyone know if Omnicef is bad for toddlers with an ear infection

who has damaged intestines?

Thanks,

Farhin

Gee must be a popular script this week. My son is on that too.

This one is supposed to be better than typcial amoxicillian products.

My son is allergic to those. By damaged intestines you mean what?

Leaky gut? Or yeast problems? Giving probiotics is an essential to

using this stuff. Or any antibiotic.

It seems these meds are needed and a necessary evil sometimes to

combat infections. Some here might be able to pinpoint some things to

reduce future ear infections.

Has irregular (2-4days) and very hard stools. How can you diagnose

yeast problems For a Boy and also For a Girl?

Constipation and ear infections both are very common problems with

milk intolerance.

I posted this on another site many months back. My NT daughter

had an ear infection (That wouldn't go away)so we treated with

Omnicef, which I read was one of the safest antibiotics to use.

Within a few days of using it, she started having those grimacing

facial expressions that my son, and I know lots of asd kids get. I

was shocked that the antibiotic caused that cause I had always

thought it was caused by the toxic metals. I called my boss (very

upset, of course!)and she told me to use the Liver Life with

Saccharamyces Boullardi. So I did. And it went away, if memory

serves, the next day.

Just recently she had another ear infection. I used Olive Leaf

Extract for 4 days giving it 3 times a day, along with Garlic

Mullein drops for the ear infection and pain, twice a day. This

took care of it so fast with no side effects. There was no further

pain after putting the garlic mullein drops in her ears the very

first time. In fact she was crying from pain before I put them in.

Ten minutes later there were no tears, she was playing like usual.

I continued doing that for a few days to make sure it didn't come

back. I did also give the ibuprofen the night before as she had a

really high fever (105.8) which she always has with ear infections.

I only had to do that one time.

Hope that some of this may be helpful.

My best,

We have not battled ear infections, but it's so great to have input like this,

Tammi. I immediately save these tips so that when there is illness, I know what

to do. cannot handle anything prescription whatsoever, so I really

appreciate this information.

Thanks so much Tammi,

From my family's experience.... Ammox just made my dad's lyme's

worse. I took Rocephin and it worked great! Everyone reacts

differently to meds. my dad could not tolerate the Rocephin, he herx'd

to bad. But from what a Lymes doctor told me... ammox is just not

strong enough and you have to take tons of it to work at all. It won't

even work on my kids ear infections. It made my dad worse because it

was like not being treated at all and the doctor thought it was

aggravating the spirochetes which makes them try to reproduce faster.

Also, 28 days is NOT long enough, he will just get reinfected and make

him worse too. I know it's frustrating dealing with illiterate

doctors. You have to learn it all yourself and tell them what you

want them to do or go to a Lyme Specialist, no matter how far you have

to travel. It's worth it, I went to 100 doctors. Just find a Lyme

Specialist or a Lyme literate doctor. Some of them don't want to be

found that easy but they will always treat you properly and that's

what is important right now. Good luck.
