Hi Pam,

I really don't know how to read these results from a Labcorp test.

It says

TEST RESULT FLAG REFERENCE INTERVAL

Rubeola Ab, IgG, EIA 4.20 High index 0.00 - 0.90

Negative < 0.91

Equivocal 0.91 - 1.09

Positive > 1.09

Mumps Abs, IgG 5.19 High index 0.00 - 0.90

Negative < 0.91

Equivocal 0.91 - 1.09

Positive > 1.09

From my very limited understanding of these results, I think my boy's numbers

are 4-5 times above normal.

I'm going to try the 2-day Vitamin A protocal (400,000 IU Vitamin A for 2 days

and 25,000 IU maintanence Vitamin A thereafter). I will retest in 3 months to

see if he still has high antibodies. My goal and hope is not just to get the

numbers to normal but I want to see some developmental improvements -- more

speech, eliminate visual stims -- anything to help him climb the ladder.

Your advice and everyone else's is appreciated.

In response to your 'so what?' question about immunity and

vaccinations: there is an expected response to a vaccine and a non-

healthy response to a vaccine (to put it so, so simply and ignoring

the fact that I think all vaccines are icky). If your son's titers

show an abnormally high immune status, that might spell trouble.

The virus can produce substances that cause an abnormal autoimmune

response in the brain and maybe other tissues.

Look in to the work of Dr. Singh from Utah State University.

So not to further butcher science, I pasted a link to as basic of an

explanation I could quickly find. Scroll past the 'index' section

to read about measles.

I don't know much about what to do. I see Dana posted a link to her

site. That will be helpful. I've just started with OLE myself and

have seen remarkable results with my son thus far. My son's rubeola

was 2 times what is required for positive immunity and his rubella

was over 3 times as high. I've heard of many, many kids with much

higher numbers that that. Haven't gotten the mumps run (lab error),

but I expect that to be elevated, too. My son regressed after the

MMR (amongst other vaccines given that month).

Did you get actual numeric values (IU or ISR) for these results or

just 'high'?
