Guest guest
Thanks for the suggestions . He's already GF/CF. But allergic to eggs and meat. He does seem to tolerate bacon and its one of his favorites. He drinks Pear Juice all day. I can only find it in Gerber name brand. Is this acceptable to use? I started him on Candex this morning. He's already so skinny. You can literaly count each rib bone. We gave Nystatin before, but didnt seem to help the sleep issue or the yeast issue for that matter. Guest guest
We give 4 oz. pear juice and one pear per day. We use water to drink only, besides the small amount of pear juice. Does Gerber have sugar added? We use Ceres pear juice, no sugar added, available from Whole Foods. We are very strick with the diet and have some luck controlling yeast. Even peas, a starch, are a violation for our 8 year old, 50 lbs. son. --- Lori Bender <ldbender@...> wrote: > Thanks for the suggestions . > > He's already GF/CF. Guest guest
Gerber Pear Juice. Ingredients: Pear juice from concentrate (water for reconstitution, pear juice concentrate) and ascorbic acid (vitamin C) 4oz contain 14g carbohydrate and 12g sugar. Are these acceptable amounts of sugar and carbs? We tried the water only thing for a while. He wouldn't drink anymore than about 6oz all day. ( we did this for about a week) His lips got so dry. Even tried water with stevia. He didn't like it. I usually have to force him to drink water. Saying to him, " take a drink " . But then he only takes a sip or two. How can I trick him into drinking more water? --- Cowen <mlcowen@...> wrote: > We give 4 oz. pear juice and one > pear per day. > > We use water to drink only, besides the > small amount of pear juice. > > Does Gerber have sugar added? > > We use Ceres pear juice, no sugar > added, available from Whole Foods. > > We are very strick with the diet > and have some luck controlling yeast. > Even peas, a starch, are a violation > for our 8 year old, 50 lbs. son. > > > > > > > > --- Lori Bender <ldbender@...> wrote: > > > Thanks for the suggestions . > > > > He's already GF/CF. Guest guest
Lori, we just kept watering the juice down a little bit each day till she got to the point where there was mostly water. If you do it gradually you may get to the point where it is just a little juice. Re: [ ] Sleep issues/ awake for over 24 hours!/ Gerber Pear Juice. Guest guest
The question is " who's the boss? " If you think water is necessary for his health, should you permit him to determine his dietary intake? If water is the only thing available, he will ultimately drink it. We all have habits. Habits can be broken. New habits can be formed. --- Lori Bender <ldbender@...> wrote: > Gerber Pear Juice. > Ingredients: Pear juice from concentrate (water for > reconstitution, pear juice concentrate) and ascorbic > acid (vitamin C) > 4oz contain 14g carbohydrate and 12g sugar. > Are these acceptable amounts of sugar and carbs? > > We tried the water only thing for a while. I would get some locally grown honey and put a little in some water and give with an eydropper - this is how I get my son to take his supplements
Guest guest
Digestive enzymes may help as may EFAs. Avocados have high quality fat. Can you get him to eat some of them? Guest guest
Raw avocado's? I doubt he would eat them but I could try one and see. The book sounds interresting. I'll look into it. Guest guest
Yes, raw. I would put the avocado on something (rice, veg, bread, cracker, potato, etc) rather than offer it straight.
