Guest guest
Hi , I am only on round 2 of DMSA, but what we do is use a medicine dropper (1 tsp) measure out 5 tsp of lemonade with the dropper and add the DMSA. Were on a very low dose so we use a 25mg capsule in 5 tsp of lemonade and he gets 1 tsp of the dmsa and lemonade mixed per dose. I actually only use 3 tsp out of the 5 and then make a new batch because I have heard it doesn't stay as potent this way. My son just slirps it right out of the dropper and doesn't wake up. Works for us. I do sometimes mix no fenol and gse in the 1 tsp of dmsa at night. Hope this helps. Guest guest
Can you get oral DMSA without a prescription and where from? We are using TD-DMSA and would like to switch to the oral. I know my doctor will fight with me about switching to the oral. I haven't seen really great improvement using TD-DMSA, however, we added ALA in over a month ago and it has been wonderful! Seeing nice changes with each round, so needless to say, we use the 3/4 schedule with the ALA. Our doctor doesn't know we are using ALA. - [ ] Re: TD-DMSA vs. oral DMSA Hi , I am only on round 2 of DMSA, but what we do is use a medicine dropper (1 tsp) measure out 5 tsp of lemonade with the dropper and add the DMSA. Guest guest
We are doing the same for the same reasons. I ordered DMSA from Kirkman Labs (prescription needed). It has some junk in it like sorbitol and berry flavoring, but that will greatly mask the taste. I hope. My son also takes oral ALA, so he has to be woken up at night. The first few nights were tough. He would either be unrousable or have trouble falling back asleep (that last 4-5 AM dose made me nervous!). After a few rounds he got used to the routine and easily awakes and now just falls immediately back to sleep. I am planning on mixing the DMSA with as little liquid or food as possible (I've heard applesauce is good but my son hates it). I've made the mistake of trying to get a sleepy kid to drink several ounces of bad tasting fluid before; it won't work! I'm going to use Odwalla fruit shake on a spoon because I've used it to hide olive leaf extract and I know he likes it. Follow it with a chaser of water (with a straw because they get dribbly when they are sleepy) to wash away that taste. I wish you luck! I am so ready to forget that horrible sulfur smell of TD-DMSA. Guest guest
, Have your doctor called Dr. Anju Usman. She is turning back to oral DMSA after disappointing results with TD-DMSA with many patients. She is quite well respected and should offer some help to you if your doc really turns out to be resistant. I've also had tremendous gains with adding oral ALA. I wish I had done it sooner. We are switching from TD-DSMA to oral DMSA next weekend (kirkman labs; 25 mgs caps). I look forward to the first DDI urine test in 6 weeks. No urine test showed any mercury and hardly any other toxin or metal being pulled over the past 15 months. Good luck! Pam p.s. you can get it from vrp.com without a prescription > > > > Hi, > > > > My son is 7 years old and I have been doing TD-DMSA for about 6 > months > > now and I am not please with how slow it is working. > > If I switch over to oral DMSA, how will I administer it at night? > > Does anyone have any tips? > > Also, how is the taste? > > Do you guys think it is more effective to switch over? > > I have a good yeast protocol inplace so I am not too concern with > that. > > Thanks for any and all advice. > > W > > > > > > <!-- #ygrp-mlmsg {font-size:13px;font- family:arial,helvetica,clean,sans-serif;} #ygrp-mlmsg table {font- size:inherit;font:100%;} #ygrp-mlmsg select, input, textarea {font:99% arial,helvetica,clean,sans-serif;} #ygrp-mlmsg pre, code {font:115% monospace;} #ygrp-mlmsg * {line-height:1.22em;} #ygrp-text { font-family:Georgia; } #ygrp-text p{ margin:0 0 1em 0; } #ygrp- tpmsgs{ font-family:Arial; clear:both; } #ygrp-vitnav{ padding- top:10px; font-family:Verdana; font-size:77%; margin:0; } #ygrp- vitnav a{ padding:0 1px; } #ygrp-actbar{ clear:both; margin:25px 0; white-space:nowrap; color:#666; text-align:right; } #ygrp- actbar .left{ float:left; white-space:nowrap; } .bld{font- weight:bold;} #ygrp-grft{ font-family:Verdana; font-size:77%; padding:15px 0; } #ygrp-ft{ font-family:verdana; font-size:77%; border-top:1px solid #666; padding:5px 0; } #ygrp-mlmsg #logo{ padding-bottom:10px; } #ygrp-vital{ background-color:#e0ecee; margin-bottom:20px; padding:2px 0 8px 8px; > } #ygrp-vital #vithd{ font-size:77%; font-family:Verdana; font- weight:bold; color:#333; text-transform:uppercase; } #ygrp-vital ul{ padding:0; margin:2px 0; } #ygrp-vital ul li{ list-style-type:none; clear:both; border:1px solid #e0ecee; } #ygrp-vital ul li .ct{ font- weight:bold; color:#ff7900; float:right; width:2em; text- align:right; padding-right:.5em; } #ygrp-vital ul li .cat{ font- weight:bold; } #ygrp-vital a { text-decoration:none; } #ygrp-vital a:hover{ text-decoration:underline; } #ygrp-sponsor #hd{ color:#999; font-size:77%; } #ygrp-sponsor #ov{ padding:6px 13px; background-color:#e0ecee; margin-bottom:20px; } #ygrp-sponsor #ov ul { padding:0 0 0 8px; margin:0; } #ygrp-sponsor #ov li{ list-style- type:square; padding:6px 0; font-size:77%; } #ygrp-sponsor #ov li a{ text-decoration:none; font-size:130%; } #ygrp-sponsor #nc { background-color:#eee; margin-bottom:20px; padding:0 8px; } #ygrp- sponsor .ad{ padding:8px 0; } #ygrp-sponsor .ad #hd1{ font- family:Arial; > font-weight:bold; color:#628c2a; font-size:100%; line- height:122%; } #ygrp-sponsor .ad a{ text-decoration:none; } #ygrp- sponsor .ad a:hover{ text-decoration:underline; } #ygrp-sponsor .ad p { margin:0; } o {font-size:0;} .MsoNormal { margin:0 0 0 0; } #ygrp- text tt{ font-size:120%; } blockquote{margin:0 0 0 4px;} .replbq {margin:4;} --> > > > > >
Guest guest
Hi , my 2 NT kids take capsules of DMSA or ALA at night, no problem. At 7 months into chelation, you are right in the slump period. The natural progression of detox is improvement--stall or worsening at 6-9 months--then slow improvement again. See Amalgam Illness, pg 52. Have you done any rounds with ALA? If not, why not? in Illinois
Guest guest
Hi , Thanks for the info. I have not done ALA, b/c my DAN doc wants to see if all the mercury is out of the rest of the body before we add that. He says we could do more harm if the other mercury is not out. He wants us to do a challenge test. We have never done a challenge test before. I have a strong feeling that there is plenty of mercury in him still. His mercury has moved a tiny bit on blood and urine test. We are doing a fecal test to check. I am very anxious to add ALA and any advice would be great. My son weights about 60 pounds and is 7 years old. I am anxious to switch to oral DMSA and start oral ALA and see if more comes out. We are certainly in a slump and it is driving me crazy. Thanks, W > > > Hi , my 2 NT kids take capsules of DMSA or ALA at night, no problem. > > At 7 months into chelation, you are right in the slump period. We have never done a urine test or fecal test, and we don't use an MD. We just keep on chelating, round after round, with DMSA or ALA or both, every 3 hours around the clock for 3 days, taking supportive supplements, and taking 4 days off. I'm chelating, and so are my 2 NT kids. The improvements I see in myself and the kids are enough for me---I don't need to test to see what is coming out and to know it's working. We did start with a hair test, to see what we were dealing with and to help with choice of chelator. December first will be one year of chelating, and I think we'll get in 48-50 rounds. I don't see any reason why you couldn't switch to oral DMSA and why you couldn't add in ALA. Check the Files for appropriate dosing per weight and make sure you are using frequent timing around the clock! > We are certainly in a slump and it is driving me crazy. You'll get through it. You NEED ALA to get at the Hg in the brain. Your MD doesn't understand, and unfortunately, that doesn't make him unusual. in Illinois
Guest guest
Add the ALA now. It is fine. Do ensure it is every 3-4 hours, even at night. Andy > Thanks for the info.
