The self-limiting has worked very well with artificials, but everyone in my family (including me!) is more than willing to put up with pain/rotten moods for sugar. In moments of yeast-free sanity we can make better choices, but once yeast gets going none of us is rational and we'd sell our grandmother for a chocolate chip cookie.
