Guest guest Posted December 11, 2007 Report Share Posted December 11, 2007 I'm taking LDN for MS and my daughter wants to get on it for Fibromyalgia but has been on pain meds including Methadone. She has recently weaned off Methadone over a week ago, nearly 2 weeks ago but had codeine 3 days ago. How long she she wait before taking LDN? I did go to the site that tells you what not to take but am confused about how long to wait before starting on LDN. Also to take it for Fibromyalgia should she start on 1.5mg, the same as I do or can she start right off on 3mg then go to 4.5? Guest guest Posted December 11, 2007 Report Share Posted December 11, 2007 Hi Sal, Dr. Skip Lenz recommends that MSers begin LDN with 1.5 mg the first month, 3 mg the next month, and then 4.5 mg thereafter. A person habituated to narcotics should wait two weeks before taking LDN. If your daughter has already been weaned off of narcotics and just took one dose of codeine three days ago, it is probably alright for her to begin LDN. In her case, the recommend dose would be 4.5 mg from the outset.
