Darci,

Some kids are better on the round and some when they are off round. You can do

longer rounds if possible, up to three weeks at a time. No, yeast doesn't have

to be totally under control to restart the round but some find they have to take

some time off chelation if the yeast gets to be too much of a problem. Increase

your probiotics and whatever you use for yeast control and see if this helps.

[ ] 1st day off chelation

We finished our first 3 days of chelation. I was anticipating it to

be really bad and my son actually seemed better while we were

chelating. He had good color in his face, seemed happy, I didn't see

any eye turning seizures, fell to sleep faster etc. We stopped at 3

am and today he seemed more lethargic, not as much color in his face,

yeasty stools (yellow), more stimmy, more spacey, and I did see

seizures. Is this something others have seen? I would have thought

it would be the other way around. I am hoping to start back up this

Friday, but was wondering if yeast has to be totally under control (no

yellow bms) before starting again?

Thanks so much.

Try increasing your yeast protocol, see if that helps.

For my son, he was better " on " round, because he was mineral toxic and

the chelator [i used ALA] was reducing the mineral level as well as

the metals.

Thanks and Dana,

Wondering if you could give me some different ideas for yeast

protocol. Right now I am giving the following.

1 drop GSE with 1/2 tsp no fenol first thing in the morning

2 Threelac's during the day

1 to 2 Florastor (Saccharomyces boulardii) during day

2 drops GSE w/ 1/2 tsp no fenol 2 hours after dinner

Last night I followed the GSE with charcoal (45 minutes after)

With giving the probiotics during the day, it's hard to find time to

give any more GSE. Would giving GSE be more beneficial than the

probiotics? My son is high D-lactate so I know certain probiotics

are not good to use.

Thanks for any help.

That webpage discusses coconut oil for yeast control. We've been

cooking with coconut oil in our home for several years now. And our

son appears to have no problems with yeast caused by ALA - me either

for that matter. Also if you get the expeller pressed oil there is no

taste or odor and it's cheaper - just as effective afaik in

controlling yeast and other microbes.

Thanks Marty,

I also use coconut oil to cook with, it's either that or ghee. I

try not to use a ton because it is so high in Sat. fat. When I

heard about cooking with olive oil and how it isn't good, I switched

to coconut oil.

Thanks again.

Darci, don't worry about the saturated fat!!! This is the kind of

fat our ancestors relied on heavily, and our bodies rely on it for

many, many things. I went to the Weston A. Price site to search for

relevant articles, but there are hundreds, it seems. Here are a few

that seemed relevant, but you could use the search engine on their

site to find many more:

http://www.westonaprice.org/knowyourfats/import_sat_fat.html

http://www.westonaprice.org/knowyourfats/coconut-oil-studies.html

http://www.westonaprice.org/transition/fatfear.html

I've been thinking about getting a T shirt printed that says " I

(heart) saturated fat " . As if people don't already think I'm a bit

cracked. :-)

take care

Rene

ps. I was so glad to hear that round #1 went well for you!

Hi Rene

I take it you use coconut oil as well. I guess the reason I started

to get concerned was because Wills blood test came back showing very

high in lauric and capric under the saturated fats which is found in

coconut oil. I was giving him a ton though and just cut back some.

I know people think I am a little crazy too, oh well.

Happy Thanksgiving.

Darci,

It's pretty typical for the kids to be tired the day after.

Depends on how bad the yeast is. Right now, with this anti-viral

protocol, I don't give probiotics at all.

Add biotin, it really helped control yeast for my kids. In fact, I

just added it again.
