Guest guest
Eat the healthiest diet possible. Epsom salt baths may be helpful. Zinc, vitamin C, and digestive enzymes may help. Give us an idea if you have specific symptoms and perhaps there will be other suggestions. Educate yourself on proper protocol for safe removal and make sure you find a dentist who understands it. Get a hair elements test if you haven't already and reduce/remove sources of exposures. I had 17 removed. Guest guest
Hi Shaddey, 15 amalgams oh wow! I started hearing about the dangers of mercury about a decade ago so I had started having some of my childhood mercury fillings replaced with composite back in my mid 30s I guess (I'm 42). I didn't know about safe protocols so I actually remember swallowing little chunks. I started detoxing this past spring before I got my last two out and taking lots of good vitamin/mineral supplements and some anti- oxidants (extra C, E and Milk Thistle). I've since learned that Andy recommends we take several times the recommended doses of some of these since mercury toxics need more support (Perhaps 4-6 G of Vitamin C and 1000 IU of Vitamin E spread over a few times a day). I was only taking about 1G of Vitamin C (1000 mgs) and 400 IU of Vitamin E (still good but could have used more). I notice that I feel better since I upped these dosages. This will also get you in a good routine for when you are ready to chelate. I was not accustomed to taking supplements multiple times each day. I also started doing a weekly sauna (you can do that before you get the fillings out) to start reducing the toxic load before chelating. I like both the ozone steam baths and the infrared saunas though a regular sauna would work too. I'd also consider getting one or two out at a time. It's better for the budget AND probably for your body too if you remove one or two at a time. If you sauna and supplement, you can reduce the quick stores of mercury so chelating won't be as hard on you. Hope some of these ideas help, Rosegvr/
Guest guest
Hi, I had a total of 10 removed. I prepared by reading, " Amalgam Illness " , by Hall Cutler, PhD, PE. I prepared by taking the following 6 month prior to their removal the following: Buffered Vitamin C Magnesium (any form) Vitamin E Coenzyme Q10 Zinc Borage Oil Milk Thistle Folic Acid Selenium I even doubled up the day before, day of and day after. Check the archives for this info. too. Of course I had this done through a " Mercury Free " dentist. What is interesting is that his wife is a doctor, a DAN! doctor that is. So he understood my concern also being the parent of an autistic child. Good luck, P.S. If you are planning on conceiving, allow your body 1yr to 18 months to completely detox. You can also do a challenge test before conceiving to see where your metals are at. shaddie_2 <shaddie_2@...> wrote: Hi, I know I need to have my 15(!) mercury fillings removed before doing serious chelation but it'll really be about a year before we can afford that. Guest guest
Don't do a challenge test, they're dangerous and run a high risk of redistributing toxic metals into your brain.. Do a hair elements test from DDI instead and apply counting rules. Guest guest
Most moms only realize they are mercury toxic after they have a child diagnosed. Many don't realize there's mercury in dental fillings because most dentists call them " silver " fillings and claim they're safe. Even if the mothers are diagnosed as having fibromyalgia or CFS they're not told it's from the mercury. S S I had 11 removed in 2001. Guest guest
A challenge test is a dangerous, single, high dose of a chelator and then urine test to see how much of what metals come out. One doesn't get much useful info and runs a high risk of push toxic metals into the brain. A hair elements test from DDI (Doctor's Data, Inc) and applying counting rules is non-invasive and much more useful. Guest guest
<<I now have joint issues. What helps that in addition to chelation?? some are telling me omega 3's???>> I've just started on the Omega 3's (was just taking EPO an Omega 6) the last week or two. I'm hoping to clear up some dry skin (some say folic acid helps with that). It's in my B that I take 2-3 times a day but so far, I'm still pretty dry. I had some low grade joint paint from my hypo-thryodism I presumed. I started adding milk thistle (80% silymarin standardized) to my supplement list and it went away in like 2 days. To date, this is the fastest relief of any symptom I've worked on. I still use it for support and my pain is still considerably at bay.
