Guest guest
hi we are restarting chelation, we had terrible terrible yeast issues after chelating at xmas and we have been using threelac to bring them under control, they are now a lot better, so we are looking at chelating again, however i dont feel threelac on its own will be enough to control the yeast issues so im proposing this - i just wonder if i could have any opinions at all, i have arranged for 8 doses per 24 hour period or thereabouts for my eldest - i am giving him 1/8mg per pound of dmsa/ala, roughly 8 mg - and 1/4 cap of caprylic acid - ie 200mg of ca and 20mg of grapefruit seed extract with each dose for my youngest - i am giving 1/8mg per pound of dmsa/ala, roughly 4 mg - and 1/4 cap of caprylic acid for his age group which is 50mg and 20mg of GSE with each dose also, i was wondering if i should also dose with anti fungals the following day but only a b/fast/lunch teatime schedule? and how long do i dose at such a low dose for? when do i need to start raising the dose? and by how much? thanks for any input emma
Guest guest
Hi Emma It is generally recommended to dose DMSA every 4 hours and ALA every 3 hours. If you are giving them together you can dose them together every 3 hours for convenience. Most people on this list dose for 3 days then take at least as many days off, so 3 days on - 4 days off or 3 days on -11 days off. Giving GSE during chelation days is a good idea to help keep yeast under control. You may also need to give it on the days off if you feel that yeast is still a problem. I usually give GSE 3 times per day or sometimes 2 times per day (or not at all) if things are pretty well under control during the " off " days. If the chelators are tolerated okay, you can increase the dose slowly after a few rounds - like a few mg at a time. The recommendation for dose is 1/8 - 1/2 mg per lb. Good luck Sheresa > > hi > > we are restarting chelation, we had terrible terrible yeast issues > after chelating at xmas and we have been using threelac to bring > them under control, they are now a lot better, so we are looking at > chelating again, however i dont feel threelac on its own will be > enough to control the yeast issues > > so im proposing this - i just wonder if i could have any opinions at > all, > > i have arranged for 8 doses per 24 hour period or thereabouts > > for my eldest - i am giving him 1/8mg per pound of dmsa/ala, roughly > 8 mg - and 1/4 cap of caprylic acid - ie 200mg of ca and 20mg of > grapefruit seed extract with each dose > > for my youngest - i am giving 1/8mg per pound of dmsa/ala, roughly 4 > mg - and 1/4 cap of caprylic acid for his age group which is 50mg > and 20mg of GSE with each dose also, i was wondering if i should > also dose with anti fungals the following day but only a > b/fast/lunch teatime schedule? > > and how long do i dose at such a low dose for? when do i need to > start raising the dose? and by how much? > > thanks for any input > emma >

I gave GSE with each dose of chelator, and then 1-2x on the first " off " day. > and how long do i dose at such a low dose for? when do i need to > start raising the dose? and by how much? Raise the dose if/when you notice that the lower dose is no longer entirely effective. Dana
