Guest guest
Okay, here are my results. Does any of this explain why I can't think straight, have hair that doesn't grow, eat a ton of food and don't gain weight, am constantly exhausted and am cold all the time? Any ideas on how to adjust supplements, etc. to help me function more optimally? Feel free to email me privately. Guest guest
I recently started biotin so it will be interesting to see if that helps. However, my children have the same problems with hair growth and have been on biotin for a while w/ no improvements. We have all tried digestive enzymes and some pancreatic and didn't help with weight gain or BMs. I did a trial of eliminating phenols but didn't get any improvements. Does anyone know what the accurate thyroid panel levels are for an adult? Thanks for the reply! > > Okay, here are my results. Guest guest
this is clearly hypothyroid with a TSH over 2, for starters. Your Free T3 is low which means that you don't have sufficent unbound thyroid hormone to run the tissues of your body or brain... I strongly suggest that you join the NaturalThyroidHormones groups list. They taught me how to save myself -and my family- from hypothyroidism... with all due respect to Dana, this is much more than a biotin, or enzyme problem, and it is likely to get worse without natural thyroid hormone. Adrenal function needs to be evaluated before starting thyroid treatment. ASI, or Adrenal Stress Index, is a 4 x in one day saliva cortisol test which does a good job of evaluating cortisol rhythm/adrenal stress levels. Some docs use Diagnos-Tech or ZRT saliva kits or you can check out www.CanaryClub.org which has a bargain package for 141.00 and includes ASI, and thyroid hormone testing. The saliva test tells you what is getting into the tissues, not what is floating in the serum... HTH, .... On 7/13/06, <curlytatertot@...> wrote: > > Okay, here are my results. Guest guest
> > I recently started biotin so it will be interesting to see if that > helps. That was the key for my daughter's hair. I had to give a LOT of biotin tho, and she was only 5 when I started it. >>However, my children have the same problems with hair growth > and have been on biotin for a while w/ no improvements. My kids did not tolerate rice, corn, or anything orange or green, even with enzymes. It took ALA chelation, plus selenium and a few other supplements, before they tolerated those foods. So it might be something else eaten that the enzymes are not addressing. > Does anyone know what the accurate thyroid panel levels are for an > adult? I can't answer your specific question here, but I have found these sites useful for info on how to address thyroid and adrenal issues with supplements http://www.drrind.com/adrensupport.asp http://www.kroger.com/hn/Concern/Hypothyroidism.htm Dana
