Guest guest
Trish, Usually, I try what I want my daughter to take. I think the 'nasty' taste is because I do/did not need some of the ones I tried. Zinc was one that tasted awful to me but she needed it for a time and it was tasteless to her. None of the others, Ca, Mg, Se, Li etc were not a taste problem for either of us. I sent them to camp all mixed together [exc Zn] after talking with the rep who said mixing all but Zn was fine; saying Zn abd Ca should not be mixed. Since then I don't worry much about mixing them ahead of time in distilled water. I've not used tap water. A serving size is small - 1/2 tsp or so - it's not related to the regular mg that you and I are used to using. They do have a multiple product but it has many things in it I was not willing to try[mercury, for one!]. I have dosed several types of Mg, including cream, at the same time in an effort to keep good levels. Initially we saw a wasting pattern for that and Ca on her hair test. She deals with seizures so I was anxious to get appropriate levels of Mg to assist with calming those. I also use Mg oxide for appropriate bowel function and don't count that as part of what I give. Maybe someone else can give you some help about the Ca. Although, she's been dairy free a long time, I've not worried much about it. After reading some of Dana's comments on it[she dealt with elevated Ca], I'm glad I didn't get too concerned. It's great that your little grandson is recovering!!
