Guest guest
Hi, I have been reading about about giving IP6 to children so that they can better tolerate supplements. How does one check if a child can benefit from IP6 (given that they are sensitive to supplements?) Thanks,

Guest guest
I'm new to this list so I'm sorry if this has been asked. Does anyone use the SuperNuthera multi vitamin liquid? (Is that not recommended?) Also, my son is 13 and is about to start chelation with DMSA capsules. (I've ordered Andy Cutler's book but haven't received it yet.) Is his protocol every 3 to 4 hours for a few days on and then two weeks off? (DAN doc said 3 times a day for 3 days and then 2 to 3 weeks off.) Also, any better results with the DMSA cream rather than pills? And lastly, my son started developing seizures in December 05, right after we went on the GFCF diet. His last amino test showed he is high in Beta Alanine which may be causing seizures. The lab recommends a low protein diet. Anyone familiar with this? (Between that and GFCF and all his food allergies, I think he can safely have water in moderation!!) Any help is greatly appreciated! Guest guest
Hello Dana, Thanks for replying. My son is normal in Calcium (Hair and Blood Serum). Iron is normal in Hair Analysis. What does that indicate about needing a demineralizer? He gets hyper on multivitamins. Guest guest
It means using a demineralizer would make him low in minerals. What makes you think he needs it. Multivitamins are generally not a good idea because of so many things in them to which ASD kids may react negatively. Consider trying individual vitamins, adding them one at a time to see which he's ok on and which he reacts negatively to. There may be some he doesn't need. Guest guest
, I don't think hair is a good place to check iron levels. A blood test would be more useful for that. Does he seem anemic? What brand of multi-vitamin have you tried? What do they have in them. Are they gfcf? S S
Hello Dana,

Thanks for replying. My son is normal in Calcium (Hair and Blood
Serum). Guest guest
Hi Carla, Andy's protocol for DMSA is 1/8-1/2 mg per lb every 3 hours during the day and every 4 at night for 3 days on and at least as many off. Many do 3 on 4 off so they can chelate on weekends, others do 3 on 11 off for every other weekend. Most DAN! docs go with a higher dose which is likely to cause problems. Have you considered NAET ( www.naet.com ) for his allergies. I've been vegan and gluten-free for many years. Guest guest
Hello , No, he does not seem anemic but gets tired soon. I haven't used multivitamins, just regular individual supplements. When I give B vitamins I notice he gets wired up which made me wonder about needing IP6 to help him process the supplements. I know Dana used it for her child. I'm not sure if it is relevant to our case though I'd like to find out if IP6 is needed for us. We only have Ca from hair and blood - normal and Fe- from hair as normal. Guest guest
, Vitamins are a different issue. Many don't tolerate B vitamins until they've chelated for a while. Digestive enzymes may be helpful. S S
Hello ,

No, he does not seem anemic but gets tired soon. I haven't used
multivitamins, just regular individual supplements. Not sure a hair analysis is a good indicator of iron, but it does appear that he would not need a demineralizer. >>He gets hyper on multivitamins. This is commonly associated with phenol intolerance http://www.danasview.net/phenol.htm Dana

I know Dana used it for her child. I used IP6 because giving my son *minerals* made him VERY wild and hyper. Dana
