Guest guest
Our son takes four teaspoons of Nordic Naturals Cod Liver Oil a day. He is a tremendous responder to it. We have his Vit A checked from time to time for safety. Pamela " Courage is doing what you're afraid to do. There can be no courage unless you're scared. That makes a total of 3 Tablespoons per day. A year ago, he was taking 1 Tablespoon total per day. Then, he did HBOT and started having lots of seizures. We increased his CLO to 2 Tablespoons, with impressive drop in seizure activity resulting. This past spring, he restarted chelation and again started having seizures. At this time, we increased CLO to the current 3 Tablespoons per day. The result again was a drop in seizure activity, with the seizures eventually ending. Things are not going well for my son right now. I think it is a problem with diminished sulfur due to a Feingold infraction he had several weeks ago. We have seen some gains with increasing sulfur intake, but he is still having difficulty managing frustration. Prior to the Feingold infraction, he had no frustration issues. I am thinking of increasing his CLO up to 4 Tablespoons but am concerned about getting to a toxic level. What is the maximum daily dose of CLO? My son is 7 years old and 70 pounds. Thanks. Guest guest
I would consider adding ProEPA and maybe natural Vit E (Gamma D) before increasing the CLO. > > Our son takes four teaspoons of Nordic Naturals Cod Liver Oil a day. Guest guest
I can't answer your question. But I read in someone's post (Andy?) that with lots of Omega 3 you would need to supplement proper amount of vitamin E to prevent oxidizing Omega 3 in the body. Oxidizing Omega3 would mean it becoming ineffective so You would have to up the dose again and again. Sorry I might be not very accurate. Hope there is someone here who can remember this better. Guest guest
If you increase any oils in the diet, including cod liver oil, it is always recommended that you give E. Guest guest
So is there a formula to determine how much Vitamin E per daily teaspoon of CLO? > > I can't answer your question. Guest guest
All of the CLO I see has high levels of Vit A and D. I was concerned about giving my 4 year old 32 lbs daughter 1 tsp of CLO because the Vit D total was 400 IU between her mult. vit., calcium, and CLO. Of those of you on high levels of CLO, did the doctor say it was ok to have this much Vit. A & D? Guest guest
Yes, the high dose of CLO our son gets was OK'ed by our DAN! doc. We check Vit A levels for safety occasionally.
