Guest guest
I would say so Jan, based on my own experience (no physical effects at all during chelation - at probably too-high a dose- but some serious depression). I wish I had more suggestions for you, though. I'm still trying to muck my way through. Is her dose low enough? Maybe you could list her supps, someone will likely have some good ideas for mood support. best wishes Rene > > > Any suggestions? Ideas? Guest guest
What dose, dosing schedule, route are you using? What did her hair test show? Did the dentist x-ray after removal to make sure he had gotten all the mercury out? What did he replace with? Did the dentist follow proper protocol? S S
My NT 11 year old just did her 7th round with dmsa. Her last amalgam
out in July. On adrenal support, supplements, dairy free..probiotics,
GSE, etc, etc. She has been asking me about feeling paranoid, and
worrying constantly. She feels over worried about huge ideas that kids
her age should'nt. Worries of catastrophe, bad things happening. She
said she gets a " bad feeling " a lot of times that something bad is
going to happen. (impending doom as I call it) Mainly, she seems what
I call Hg psycho...lol.

I was like this before filling removal. But it went away after. I
suspect she is not dumping as much Hg as I have. Even though I have
done the same number of rounds. She gets very irritated and moody and
depressing between rounds. So I know she needs more rounds..but we are
not able to do more than two a month. Non custodial parent will not
cooperate with this at all.

Any suggestions? Ideas? Is this Hg related as it seems?
_______________________________________________ Join Excite! - http://www.excite.com The most personalized portal on the Web! Because it is worse between rounds, this would have meant mineral toxicity for my #2 son. Try removing minerals for a round, see what happens. Guest guest
Let me list what she is on and what she has tried. We are using dmsa, 12.5 mg every four hours. She is 101 pounds. We give c (500mg) with dmsa because she gets nauseaus and sick feeling if we don't. I also give GSE while on a round. We have had good effects using Yeast Aid for a few weeks at a time. Natrol My favorite Multi-one per day EFA's-fortiflax-two tbsp. per day Adrenal cortex extract-one cap twice a day Jarrow Acidophilus-1 cap per day in pm Yeast Aid- one cap per day in the am If off yeast aid she gets two caps of GSE per day given separately. Zinc-50 mg before bed Mag-100mg twice a day Vit C-500mg three times a day We use echinacea but only when she has a cold. Melatonin-1mg before bed Lithium- 1 cap three times a week. (5mg aspartate) We only use this three times a week. Using it everyday she says makes her " feel funny " I do give extra a and E when on a round. Vit A palminate 8,000IU and Vit E-400Iu once a day each. I increase zinc/mag a bit on a round. She does not tolerate her calcium chews, says they make her stomach sick. I pulled her off all the other supplements last month because she was not doing any better on them. So we widdled it down to the basics above. There is no amalgam in her mouth. No fish consumption. Showed deranged minerals on May hair test. Low adrenal/thyroid. The only things that helped in the past were yeast aid and the adrenal cortex. This is short lived though. She seems calmer and less irritable, more agreeable and content on a round to me. But basically over all an unhappy kid. > > I was like this before filling removal. But it went away after. Guest guest
> Low adrenal/thyroid. Hi Jan, Are you giving her any thyroid support? Before I got it, I was a pretty unhappy camper. W.
Guest guest
I wonder if it could be some side effect specifically from the DMSA. Was she like this before starting chelation? A friend of mine had severe anxiety when chelating with DMSA. Maybe you could try a round of ALA to see if she has the same problem.
Guest guest
No she was miserable before chelation too. It just is not getting much better. And at times is worse between rounds. She just reached her three months post removal in Oct. so we have not done ala yet. But she is carrying lead and some other metals, so using the dmsa is needed for a while anyway. But I think we may try to add it next round. > > I wonder if it could be some side effect specifically from the DMSA. > Was she like this before starting chelation? Guest guest
I don't know if this information helps or sparks any ideas out there. But she has a round beginning this past Thursday and running to late Saturday night/sunday am. She seemed her usual moody self on Sunday. complained of thoughts, worries, etc as described in my post. Today she seemed happier, positive. Enjoyed her day...which happens almost never around here. She seems to have a few good days after a round. Then it will go back to the same old again. > > I wonder if it could be some side effect specifically from the DMSA. > Was she like this before starting chelation? Guest guest
Jan, She may be one of those people who do better when you do both DMSA/ALA together. Now that you have done some rounds of DMSA, try adding in about 2/3 the DMSA amount for the ALA. Good Luck ! Guest guest
Dana the lithium is based upon her extremely low levels on hair testing. This also fits in with mood regulation problems. It does help somewhat. Will try the other suggestions below and see what happends. > > We are using dmsa, 12.5 mg every four hours. She is 101 pounds.
