Chelation helped my son with food and supplement intolerance, and yeast overgrowth, but did not affect much else. It was the supplements that recovered him, but the ALA chelation was required for him to tolerate the supplements. >>When we do get a gain, it often doesn't stick. Guest guest
Pam, same boat here. Just finished round 6 of ALA and not seeing much. Per a suggestion from here I am doubling his dosage from 25 to 50mg @ 131 pounds every 3 hours even at night. > > We're in the middle of our fifth round of the Cutler Protocol of ALA. Guest guest
Did the original hair test meet the counting rules? How much chelation did you do with TD-DMSA? Since you saw some lead in the past, you will do better using DMSA. It is not known whether ALA chelates lead, although it is supportive along with DMSA. -- > > We're in the middle of our fifth round of the Cutler Protocol of ALA. Guest guest
, Thank you for your reply. I don't have a copy of his hair test here at home. It is in his very thick chart at the DAN! doc. I seem to recall that it did meet the counting rules. I will work on getting a copy of that to confirm. We did PCA-RX for one year with great metal pulls, red-lined Uranium again and again. Then we added TD-DMSA for five months. We got a fabulous metal pull per Doctors Data toxic metal test. He tolerated it very well. However, we saw little improvement. We had to stop the TD-DMSA due to increased liver enzymes. We stopped to rest his liver. During this time, we did a Valtrex trial and he was a Nonresponder. Instead of returning to TD-DMSA, we decided to try the Cutler ALA protocol. Pamela " Courage is doing what you're afraid to do. There can be no courage unless you're scared. Guest guest
We had to stop the TD-DMSA due to > increased liver enzymes. We stopped to rest his liver. What I do, because I don't want to worry about testing, is only use DMSA every 3 or 4 rounds. MAybe that would be infrequent enough to keep his liver in good shape, and it takes awhile for the lead to come out of the bones anyway so the lead chelating benefit is still there. I'd consider raising his dose of ALA since you're not seeing any negative side effects. And I'd say, OK, I'm going to plough through x number of rounds and then re-evaluate. Maybe 15? > During this time, > we did a Valtrex trial and he was a Nonresponder. Do you have indications that he's got viral problems? Virastop, OLE, and TF are other things to consider. > Instead of returning to > TD-DMSA, we decided to try the Cutler ALA protocol. I vote hang in there and keep going. We're rooting for you! The hair test would be interesting to confirm toxicity. Of course it doesn't tell the current state of things, but I think it's safe to say (if the hair test did meet the counting rules) that you haven't done enough chelation yet. > We did PCA-RX for one year with great metal pulls, red-lined Uranium again > and again. We had to stop the TD-DMSA due to I really like Nell's idea of using DMSA once per month. I don't think you said whether the previous chelation was done with frequent dosing. If not, you may have stirred up more metals than you got out. -- > increased liver enzymes. We stopped to rest his liver. During this time, > we did a Valtrex trial and he was a Nonresponder. Guest guest
Haha - I had to laugh when I read this, sorry - but my first thought was " Are they kidding? " Listen guys, we started chelation when my daughter was six years old, and have been doing it on and off (mostly on, especially for the last 2 1/2 years) for 5 years. We had our FIRST huge mercury dump 3 months ago - so, miracles do happen. I'm not saying it's going to take that long for most kids, but I had all but given up hope until I saw that urine test result with the mercury slammed up against the right side of the graph, at 30X normal levels. The only thing I can think is that, either other metals were being pulled out first (for years?), or that TD-DMSA was the most effective chelation method for her. Hang in there - it takes a lot of patience! -------------- Original message -------------- From: Mum231ASD@... Guest guest
Now that is persistence! Were you getting other metals out all this time? Are you using ALA? -- > > Haha - I had to laugh when I read this, sorry - but my first thought was " Are they kidding? Guest guest
Yes, this does occur in girls as well as boys. If you do test, you need to stop certain treatments for ASD including MB12 because these will lower testosterone - but not effctively -- but will skew testosterone test results. <sage@...> wrote: > > > > Haha - I had to laugh when I read this, sorry - but my first thought > was " Are they kidding?
