Guest guest
, my son (34 lb) receives 200 mg P5P, 800 mg magnesium (sometimes higher, up to 1000mg or more), and 1000 mg calcium a day, divided into 4 doses throughout the day. Yes, magnesium is known for its calming effect and I do know that without the P5P (spread over the day, not all at once and not after 5 pm) he stims more and is more hyper. I don't know if calcium has a calming effect or not. Beti > > Hi, > We are up to 15mg P5P in combo w/ 50mg calcium. Guest guest
Yes, calcium is calming, very calming. Although I see Dana says not to give at bedtime, so for some maybe not so, but that is the most likely event, that it is calming. Calcium has been known to hype up certain kids, so watch for that. Magnesium usually calms. B6/P5P can cause wild hyper for certain kids, especially those who are phenol intolerant. This is what happened for my son, until he lost his phenol intolerance with ALA chelation. Then adding the B6 caused calming. Guest guest
We have found that adding B6 (which P5P is the more bioavailable form) makes our son calmer.
