ALA questons

Hi All,

We just completed our 3rd round of chelation using oral ALA and

DMSA. We completed about 15 rounds of DMSA only first. He weighs

about 42 lbs and we dose him 12.5 DMSA and 8.33 ALA every 3 hours

during the day and 4 at night.

During the round, he dose fairly well. Actually, on day 1 and 2 he

is fairly quiet, maybe a little spacey. On day 3 of the round, the

stimming increases drastically. He doesn't usually seem really

uncomfortable, just very stimmy and very demanding with what he

wants. Is this typical or something I should be concerned with?

Also, since adding ALA, he kind of holds his head a little. He will

put his hand up by his ear (not over his ear) and hold it there a

little. Almost seems like a little discomfort. He's never had

sound sensitivity before, and he doesn't really seem like the sounds

are bothering him, but just want to make sure I'm not doing any

harm. Does this sound ok? Could he have a headache possibly??

This behavior usually happens both on round and off. Lastly, he

seems to have a slight increase in some autistic behaviors since

adding ALA. Specifically,he has never toe walked and now he does

some. Also, he has never really spun around in circles and he was

doing that yesterday a little. Should I be concerned about these

new behaviors??? I just want to make sure I am doing no harm.

Could all these behaviors be attributed to yeast as I do know that

ALA has really stirred up yeast for him?

We are seeing some small gains. His receptive language skills seem

to have exploded. He is listening and following directions. Some

more attempts at language (he is non-verbal). Also, one of his

therapists commented that he seemed to be a different kid the last

few weeks. Meaning, he wasn't as laid back and compliant as he had

been. He was a little more fired up (which is very good for him),

and somewhat difiant (again this is a good thing for him...he is

NEVER difiant) His behavior is starting to be more typical for a 4

yr old.

So, I guess I am just wanting to make sure that these small

regressions are ok and that I'm not doing him any harm. Thanks so

much for guidance!
